Strong third quarters are signs of excellent coaching. I know Ime is missing weapons but Spo will be his toughest matchup yet.

Why did the Celtics stop playing suffocating defense?

Heat are basic without the refs. Tatum and Brown don’t have it tonight either, sit them down.

Hilarious thinking how many times we had our teeth kicked in in the 3rd quarter

The Heat have rebuilt themselves into contenders three different times in the last 2 decades while the Knicks have struggled to string along a few seasons above .500.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Didn't realize there was a game. Whoops.

Horford is so huge for the Celtics.

Too little, too late from Brown. I wouldn’t play Grant Williams for the rest of the series.

Letting Riley walk was so devastating for this franchise

Will be interesting to see how Boston bounces back with Horford and Smart back

And he was right to demand an ownership stake. Dolan is talent-repellant at every level. Riley would have needed total organizational control to win here.

Can we also look at the fact that Miami DNPCD'd Duncan Robinson yet again, despite the 5 year $90 million contract (including player option), because they have better options at the guard position. Meanwhile, we're sh*t scared of benching Fournier and his 4 year $73 million deal (including team option) - not DNPCDing him, just benching in favor of Grimes or a better fit in the starting rotation - because it would somehow destroy his value around the league. I don't know.

He left before Dolan became owner. The Knicks were still relevant even after Riley left but they went downhill after Dolan came into the picture in 2000-01.

But Riley leaving was the beginning of the end for the Knicks.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

I don’t think Fournier was playing because of his contract - at least not fully. I just think Thibodeau loves veterans - any veterans - over younger players. At the end of the day he is riding vets over kids regardless of what any stats show him.

I have a hard time it was Thibs driving the decision. Thibs pulled the plug on Kemba when given the opportunity. Thibs clearly just wants to win games and is willing to play or bench whomever he needs to in order to win. Fornier and his poor defense are better suited off the bench where we need more offensive punch sometimes. I think Thibs sees it too, but it's a hard sell for a front office that just signed him to that huge deal. That's the piece that gets me when looking at Miami.

One thing I dislike about the playoffs is having to root for teams I despise. Almost every year I am obliged as an NBA fan to root for the Celtics, Heat, Lakers, or Warriors in a playoff series because the league seems to shove these teams down our throat.

Do you think he deserves to make the HOF?

He's been a winner his entire career. I would take him over a lot of so-called stars. It's a close call if the Celtics make the Finals in my opinion.
