The Greatest Moment in Baseball History

Post#1 » by Duffman100 » Mon Oct 1, 2007 6:16 pm

I'm going with Joe Carter's homerun that won the 1993 World Series.

Gotta be Boston's championship run.

First professional team ever to come back from a 3-0 deficit, and the fact that it was against the Yankees just ices it.

The ALCS of 2003 and 2004 might have been the best baseball I've ever seen played. The intensity and fire of the fans (remember Pedro throwing down Zimmer and Nelson and Garcia beating up the bullpen security guard) to the intensity of the fans and the greatness of the games. I don't think it's been topped in two postseasons in a row by two teams ever.

I'm just gonna go ahead and say Jackie Robinson, win this thread, and be on my way.

If you mean personally, then Game 7 of the Yankess-Diamondbacks was a thrill for me

Lou Gehrig Appreciation Day

No moment better represents the beauty and the pageantry that is baseball.

I wasn't alive for it, but my mom and dad always tell me stories about the day:

Bucky "F-in" Dent's home run vs. the Sawx in 1978 in the 1 Game Playoff.

-OR-

September 6, 1995

I'll let you remember what that day was. I remember watching this game at my grandparents' house.

I completely agree. Best moment in baseball, but I didn't watch it live. :(

Pretty broad, but it's easily the 2003/2004 ALCS. Hopefully there will be a meeting of those two teams this year and that ALCS is just as exciting.
