No thanks on Roddy. Dude's built like Sean May and I don't mean that in a good way.

I’m worried about Dalen’s off the dribble jumper, and he has a slight hitch in his shot, but he really reads the game well as a 2 guard. Some of his passes and reads were really impressive.
I reaaaaally like Dalen. Kriisa was out for the PAC12 championship game against UCLA and he ran the team perfectly. He's got PG brain and vision with PF length. A lot of the best PGs in college this season spent a ton of time off ball seemingly just because they were taller than the other guard. If he fills out, he's going to be an awesome 2 way player, even if he never gets rid of that crazy elbow movement.
Yeah, I’m just starting to look at guys for the draft, and he’s my favorite right now. He has those glue guy traits where I’m convinced he could help us next year, and, like you said, if he fills out his body long term and develops his swing skills, you can squint and see some all-star impact.
High floor, high ceiling.

Re: 2022 NBA Draft
I might just ruin this thread with Dalen talk. But, he basically has the same physical profile as beachamp, maybe minus a little vertical pop, but he’s two years younger, and he has some real on-ball skills.
He might be switchable defending 2.5 positions next year, and if he fills out you could definitely see him capably defending 1-4.
The dude has an 8’10 standing reach as basically a combo guard.
I’m probably getting too excited here, but my goodness.

No, not at all, but what would the good way be?

I'm just saying, I'm looking to draft a switchable PF, not an NFL lineman. He makes guys like Grant Williams (6'6, 235) and PJ (6'5, 245) look skinny. For a lot of these 6'6-6'8 combo forward dudes, once you're past that 250+ range, I worry how good your conditioning, durability, and lateral quickness is gonna hold up against NBA athletes.

Roddy needs to get on the Kevin Love (similar combine measurements) health plan.

Depends on how big you're requiring these guys to be, but some of the wings that sort of fit the profile in our draft range based on the bits I've read and watched:
MarJon Beauchamp - 6'6" with 7'0" wingspan (supposedly) - 200 lbs - Was considered a lazy defender in his HS days and has taken a long, winding path to get here. Went to JuCo before ending up with G-League Ignite and has proven himself as a pretty tenacious defender there that doesn't need the ball on offense (but has generally been a good finisher inside and a streaky shooter)
EJ Liddell - 6'7" - 6'11" wingspan - 240 lbs - Ohio State's go-to scorer, 1st team All-Big 10, 1st team All-Big 10 Defense. He was considered sort of a liability when he got switched onto guards until improving in this regard as a junior, but his motor and shot blocking has never really been a question. He's definitely got more of a big man's game; he loves posting up and isn't really going to attack from the perimeter (though he can shoot the 3 pretty well), so he wouldn't really be a Mikal Bridges. He'd be more of a switchable small-ball big man. Kevin O'Connor compares him to Paul Millsap.
Kendall Brown - 6'8" - 6'10" wingspan - 205 lbs - only 19 years old, he's a great athlete and made his 3's this year (but small sample size and just not really his game at the moment). Seems to still be figuring out how to defend fundamentally speaking and KOC says he stands up/gets backcut too often right now, but I see his eyes darting back and forth between his man and the ball and the flashes of him locking guys up, jumping passing lanes, etc. and feel like he could potentially turn into a good defender.
Christian Braun - 6'7" - N/A wingspan but doesn't look relatively long to me - 220 lbs - Everyone basically says he doesn't have one elite skill to sell people on, but he's pretty good in a lot of areas. Good athlete, hard-nosed defender, loves to get out in transition for dunks and spots up for 3's in the half-court. His shooting release is a little slow, but pretty beautiful form otherwise.
Lol, I'm always unsure of my eye test of wingspans but:

Isn't Ron Harper like 6'6 ? Is there a chance he is this years Grant Williams guy in the draft?

Harper Jr. is a broad shouldered 6-6 guard with a very high skill level and great feel for the game. He’s not a jump out of the gym athlete but he’s a high level prospect who can beat you in a lot of ways.
3pt. shooting and versatility are two of the most important things in today’s NBA and Harper Jr. brings both. He’s a nice catch and shoot player and can also create offense for himself and score off the dribble. He’s a little like Gary Trent Jr. with his shooting gravity.
He’s a crafty scorer who does damage in the paint, can hit runners and short fade away’s and can body his way through the defense on his way to the rim.
On the defensive end he’s able to use his thick frame to guard above his position and rebound the ball against taller players. He’s got quick hands and good footwork, although pure athleticism and speed are a bit lacking.

Re: 2022 NBA Draft
Baldwin’s athleticism is obviously highly concerning, but his shot is going to be so appealing to teams. I don’t think he should go back or transfer, ride the wave of that HS recruiting credibility while you still can.

I couldn't tell if it was injuries or what but he looked too slow to me at UWM. Couldn't separate on offense, couldn't stay in front of anybody on defense. The vertical, eh, don't think it matters too much for him.

He reminds me of Danny Green. He was drafted, washed out, then revitalized his career a few years later by really focusing on his defense in addition to his 3 point shot. Baldwin is obviously taller than Green, but the lack of athleticism and ability to get by defenders is similar.

All this Pat Baldwin news is good, maybe we can buy a 2nd round pick and pick him up instead of the first. Vert for a 6'10 guy doesn't matter all too much.

It’s more the fact that he can’t move that matters.

PBJ is trending much closer toward undrafted than first round pick.

You can also look at it another way: as untapped potential. We see how well he moves at 260 with 11% body fat (that's still a ton of muscle for an NBA player) and he can handle, pass, and shoot. What if he starts working with Giannis, Pat, and Suki? Weird prospect but not *bad* weird imo.

Re: 2022 NBA Draft
Baldwin needs to go back to school and get healthier. Not saying he's gonna have a huge jump in athleticism or something, but I think he's a bit better athletically than he showed this season. I don't think he's been right since he hurt himself beginning of senior year.
Also, think he's for sure mentally soft and not the toughest minded guy around...so that doesn't help anything.
