Taunting is a joke technical unless it's legitimately threatening

Let players do what they want and some trying to over-regulate

I'm fine with players like Steph taunting since they earned the right to do it.

I roll my eyes when nobodies or chokers do it. Like when Embiid does his plane. Dude needs to get out of the second round before he can pull out the taunting celebrations.

The idea is to prevent fights before they happen. Taunting can lead to fights. The same reason they don't allow extravagant dunks during games

They have rules regarding dunking, like not hanging on to the rim, to prevent players from trying any spectacular-stylin' dunks. They want to prevent showboating, which would lead to fights

Kinda the same topic and I didn't see it mentioned here yet, but the Mavs got fined the other day for too much celebrating lol. "Infractions of team bench decorum."

Read on Twitter

Mavs must have a really excited bench

That's not why the hanging on the rim rule is there though

It’s swagger from extreme skill. It’s e classiest taunt there is. But it’s a taunt none the less

Your favorite team, plays the game they way they play, because of Curry.

Celtics and Mavs both stocked up on 3 point shooters, and launch 3's, because of Curry. He paved the way for other teams to become good. Hes basically the father of modern basketball at this point. You should probably show him more respect.

Oh yeah you’re not defensive at all lol.
Thread has nothing to do with his on-court play lol. It has to do with his taunting.

I don’t believe in giving players technical fouls for ‘taunting’, hanging on the ring too long after a dunk, slapping the backboard or any of those things.

Having said that, I find any kind of dancing pretty stupid, but if that’s what they want to do, whatever

Exactly.

I don't even get mad when opposing teams trash and taunt my team. They earned the right to have fun, the losers need to get back in the gym. These players need to stop being soft.

Its goofy and cringe because he looks like he has no rhythm lol. But he is ultimately just having harmless fun, and celebrating his plays in care free way. Its little taunting but its not too disrespectful, or targeted towards anyone in particular. So dont get why anyone would have problem with him.

End of the day he just a baller having fun out there. Even if he looks like an awkward uncle or middle schooler doing it lol.

His celebrations are the worst thing about him. It's trashy and doesn't fit the rest of the Curry that we know.

I'm mostly there with you. As a coach of junior basketball, there's a small voice in my head reminding me some snot-nosed no talent is gonna tap his head everytime he accidentally banks in a three these days, but....yeah...
