According to Aldridge,

Representatives from the Grizzlies, Wizards, Magic, Pistons, Knicks, Bulls, Pelicans, Bucks and Spurs were among the many in attendance Friday [at Sochan's workout]

Tired of seeing these workout videos consistently emphasizing dunks against no defenders. That video of Sochan showed me very little. The best take aways were his shot looks okay, his left to right hand dribble is not tight, his right hand has good touch and spring, he looks mildly comfortable dribbling with a defender on him but no other defenders to help put pressure on him. So, idk. I still like his two way multifaceted game but he might really only reach being a skinnier version of modern day Aaron Gordan.

This guy shot 58% FT and people are talking top 10. I hope someone drafting ahead of 13 overpays for his defense.

This guy is actually a stud defender full-stop, not just a potential to be a stud defender like many prospects this year.

We had Michael Kidd-Gilchrist 7 years. We took him #2 overall. I'm pumping my breaks on Sochan.

MKG's jumper was beyond broken. Sochan has good form and shot a solid % on spot up 3s.

Good thing Sochan is mocked 8-12, not #2.

I'm not interested given his lack of advanced handles. I don't want to have to spoonfeed offense to a defensive specialist. I have Eason over him and Tari is always mocked after him.

As long as he's not mocked 13 or 15 I'm happy.

Has Jeremy Sochan defended any NBA prospects well?

These two do not go together. Eason is mocked after him because Sochan is a better prospect.

I see Eason and Sochan on opposite ends of the spectrum as a defenders.
Eason is all about athleticism/chaos/activity/tools, Sochan is all about smarts/fundamentals/technique

Sochan is a plus defender. He just needs to do enough offensively to keep himself on the floor. Similar to the situation with Achiuwa and Thybulle.

Sochan is also an interesting proposition at the 5, imo.

His body, and how he movets/shoots really remind me of Batum.

However I don't think he's nearly as athletic as Batum, or as good of a playmaker.

Sounds like this comment is directed at yourself, you're obviously not going to get much useful out of highlight or workout videos, ever. No one worth talking with here takes their draft opinions from stuff like that.

EDIT: good places to start:

I guess I’m just commenting on my frustrations with how reductive the combine and workouts have devolved into over the last couple decades.

I'm just guessing never having attended a workout, but it is possible that your frustrations are limited to the video they chose to release to the public. Now the combine does have a pretty full TV show, but I'll bet the team workouts in the privacy of their gyms are designed to get real information on weaknesses as well as strengths.
