it's not hard for wiggins to fill harrison barnes' role.. getting defenses to open up and double teammed off of him when he was the iso guy in minnesota, makes it easier for him to play to his potential.

at that time, No1 thought Russel was anything other than terrible, same goes for Wiggins
I think the big issue was, perhaps because of a bad image idk..but most thought he would be reluctant to be a role player

they got russel from a s&t with the nets. its not like they had the whole league of options to choose from. it was either pick someone from the nets or lose KD for nothing. at the time d'angelo was an interesting prospect. He would either work well with the dubs or he would be a good asset to hold until they offloaded him.. which is exactly what happened.

and their coaching staff did make a difference. they made russel look good (even though it was obvious he would be a bad fit with splash bros) and they are making wiggins look good now.
