Re: Value of Andrew Wiggins exp
Think Wiggins’ value is on the court. If he’s being traded as expiring filler its a mistake.
If a team doesnt value an all star in their prime with great defense performing well in the playoffs for their play on the court, then they arent a customer for what you are selling.

an expiring Wiggins is worth a future FRP to a contender who wants his bird rights. But they would be exchanging filler in that process for him.

Re: Value of Andrew Wiggins exp
GSW can afford to wait and continue to contend as is...next season, integrate Moody and Kuminga and worry about Wiggins' and Poole's money when the time comes. Maybe Wiseman even comes around...they've got lots of ownership money and can, at least, consider retaining and paying taxes on anyone they want to keep. If Kuminga and/or Moody keep coming on, they'll be in a very strong position. Great vets, great organization...keep that window open.
They can make championship decisions rather than those "can't lose an asset for nothing" panicky decisions of lesser franchises.

Re: Value of Andrew Wiggins exp
I personally wouldn't trade him (he's the youngest of his Allstars) and I'd probably re-sign him... if that's not possible, he can always try an ST when the time comes... I rate it pretty high AW..(I'm a Mavs fan and it's really screwing us up.) I'd just rate trading it for something really cool. Something like.. Wiseman/Wiggins for Siakam.. either Wiseman/Wiggins for Turner/Brogdon or Wiggims/Wiseman/Moody for Poelt/Murray

I think Lacob will bite the bullet and pay both Poole and Wiggins but eventually trade them if the guys on the rookie deals develop

Wiggins will be $33,616,770 next season, so
$33,616,770 - $100,000.00 = $33,516,770
$33,516,770 / 1.25 = $26,813,416
Proof
$26,813,416 * 1.25 = $33,516,770
$33,516,770 + $100,000.00 = $33,616,770
If Golden State is trading Wiggins because of finances, what are they wanting back in return? I have them interested in a full sized Wing with some defense on a good contract since the team salary is going to climb when Poole gets a new contract in Summer 2023. So having the incoming salary from the trade not be too high for at least the 2023-24 season would also be a good thing.

When have we seen Golden State trade a key rotation player for savings under Lacob?

A max for Wiggins is 4 years $170m.. starting at $40m a year.
That would be a mistake, he's really worth a little more than half of a max. 4 years at $110m.
No way he gets a max.. Could he get another 30m AAV? Maybe, it would almost certainly be from us, but one team that someone brought up a while back - not sure if here or on W's board - was CLE.. I dont know their salary situation off hand butI know that they have a lot of young talent in Garland, Mobley, Allen (not really big on Sexton from what I've seen, both in terms of on court play and how he works with his teammates) but he'd be a great fit there for them
How could he leave us and how could we let him leave? He's our Iguodala now, one that's traded a bit of playmaking for a bit of shooting

Not for savings, but we have dealt Bogut and Iguodala, at great cost, to facilitate other moves
I've been banging the drum for a while.. Wiggins is the one you keep. You keep him over Poole, you keep him over Klay, you keep him over everyone not named Curry or Dray

I thought that you wanted to talk about trades and that was what my post was directed more towards. I touched on the economics/finances, but was aiming for a discussion of why a team would want to trade a respectable Wing on a good contract for a respectable Wing with a rather large salary.
So it wasn't about trades after all.
Not yet, but the Luxury Tax number is going to take a fair sized jump if they give both Poole & Wiggins nice contracts in Summer 2023.
If I had known that you wanted to talk mainly abut Golden State economics/finances, then I wouldn't have bothered with my initial response to you.

"I think most of the offers here are falling pretty short" = yes, I clearly am talking about whether it makes sense for Golden State to trade Wiggins for what is likely to be on offer.
Your response: "If Golden State is trading Wiggins because of finances, what are they wanting back in return?"
My response = that is not a likely scenario given what is going to be available
