Four out with Luka doing his thing is lazy basketball. Luka’s gonna have to learn to play with a good big man if he wants to win championships.

Kidd needs to play Powell more in game 4 and crash the basket more. I hope the analytics nerds learned that limited spot up shooters don’t impact games (Duncan Robinson, DFS, Bullock, etc.)

Mavs should let Brunson walk (to the Knicks) and go get a guy like John Collins.

Lol love your thinking bro. Mavs would have choked harder if Timmy had one of his patented clutch 1-15 games.

Frank, Bullocks, THJr, Burke, Pinson

There's no way a team with 5 ex Knicks is going anywhere.
5.5 if you count Brunson's dad's ex Knick DNA.

Can't wait until we send them Mitch so they are 5 ex Knicks and holding.

Seriously, if THJ had been playing, Luka would have realized the Mavs’ real situation and the ceiling on that team.

Anyway…I think we should sign Brunson to a max, and then trade him back to the Mavs

I was speaking with a well known acquaintance of mine yesterday. He was in town from Arizona. He’s a professional sports trainer. Has worked at the NFL combine facility in Arizona St, the US Air Force, etc. he’s very committed to his field. Super knowledgeable in sports medicine and physiology. He said he trained various members of the Suns earlier this year and did not see the commitment from them as athletes as he’s seen in others. He particularly singled out Deandre Ayton. He said Ayton smokes weed before games and has a lackadaisical approach to training, etc. i asked him if he would give Ayton a max contract and his response was “hell no” but that “some dumb team probably will”. Take that as you wish.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

His Agent probably smokes with him too. They're both high thinking Ayton deserves a max

For whatever it's worth, in the draft interviewing process Ayton said his definition of success was getting to a second NBA contract. His motor and love for the game have always been huge question marks. He has answered all the questions about his defense but there's been a lot of smoke about his work ethic lately.

Wiggins making a huge impact. Easy to see RJ being able to do similiar things. Big wings with all around skills can be valuable. Mavs are missing that kind of player (besides Luka)

You don’t really need amazing athletiscm if you have great foot work…Luka and Butler are doing a lot of damage without being super athletic.

It’s that size + skill combo. RJ still has to improve on some things, but can still see him making a big impact eventually….maybe not as a #1 but even if he’s a #2,#3, etc can still be very valuable.

That's concerning. At the very least, requires homework.

Would it really surprise any1 if Deandre Ayton go full Eddy Curry after getting his contract?

I was telling Melo that there has to be more to it then Sarver Just being Cheap. He is not that cheap for such a young player if he was truly a stud. Ayton is def problematic somewhat

Yeah idk where that is coming from, but he got HUGE praise coming into camp. Results speak for themselves cause he took a leap this year.
Ayton said he did a lot of running on the beach, played a ton of basketball and came to camp ready to go as his head coach demanded of him.

"I just told him from Day 1, he's got to come in like game shape from Day 1," Williams said. "And he's lived up to it. His body looks great. His cardio is at an unreal level."

Big-time focus'

"He's leading the conversations, he's talking about things that matter as opposed to guessing or thinking," Williams said. "He's taking the work seriously. He's always did, but now he understands the importance of it. The details that go into being a really good team, an All-Star caliber player. He's come in with a big-time focus."

Entering his fourth season after an one-and-done at Arizona, Ayton said he feels "far ahead" in camp.

I even remember shams said Suns officials was raving about his work ethic in his 3rd year. And if shams said it well… doesn’t get any more true than that.

The Suns are like 1 million under the luxury tax. Sarver will always not want to pay that.

Nash, Marion, Amar'e

lets go of Joe Johnson

Chris Paul, Booker, Bridges

will let go of Ayton

Return to New York Knicks
