I'm a fan of most of this Chelsea squad and think they only need 2 signings - one to rebalance the d line for the leaving cb's and 1 to replace Ziyech with a more consistent player. The midfield personnel are good, and frankly Tuchel should improve his tactics there to deploy Mason, Kante, RLC better. I don't understand the hype around Declan Rice at all.

Madrid fans would be ecstatic to get rid of Hazard to anybody at any price. The most valuable contribution he's made at Madrid during his whole stint is finally being ruled out for a season remainder early so Vini could be the default starter. I watched peak Hazard before that, and even then thought he fit Barca more than Real. I doubt a watchable version of Hazard returns to the pitch before the world cup.

Only one praised though sadly.

Did you win?

Jamie Vardy! The floor is yours for a rebuttal!

I'll take that as a "no" then.

I can't believe Dembele is potentially available on a free. On my hands and knees.

Are you aware of his injury record?

Oh my.

world champions held to a 1-1 draw at home. Leicester even took Vardy off and put Perez on to give Chelsea a chance.

^^Hah, echoes some convos I've had with Madrid friends. I also rate Dembele, but those who take Barca's club mgmt credibly think he's unprofessional, inconsistent, and injury prone. Let's see what happens. I see it as a parallel situation to Pogba, though Pogba's form with NT has still been consistently WC throughout the Utd experience so I more overtly blame the club for making him look like a muggle and think he'll look better at any other club next season.

Risky business, but that's the only way we're getting a top class elite forward this summer.

Pogba has been flat out bad for United. Dembele is leading La Liga in assists this season having not played in 16 games.

Injury record aside, he seems to have settled down his rowdy carefree lifestyle since getting married. Wishful thinking but linking back up with a coach that loved him and he excelled beside could solidify his game at top levels.

Dembele's form this season is also bursty, though from the outside that may be driven by Barca politics and management more than the player.

Re Utd, I think the most observant and accurate footballing coverage of them has been by the youtube channel Tifo IRL, where they go into the tactical profiles of their managers and players. 2 of their most important points are that Ralf's tactics are a bad fit for the personnel and that the midfielders get way too much homework covering the skill free cb's.

Are you just showing me that "sometimes" you talk ****? :D

Glad you now agree that Maddison should be in the England team over Mount though.

btw I'd take Mount over 3 Barkleys any day of the week.

Madders is a baller, and better than Mount. Barkley is better than both.

Werner Pro Max.

I think Sterling is underrated sorta, but this signing is shambles without a creator coming along with him.
