Brunson is not that guy. Throwing big money at this dude would be a huge mistake.

Wait, so you’re saying having Luka get tripled teamed when he’s on the court and the Mavs running a spot-up spread-5 lineup when Luka’s off the court might actually be helping Brunson’s numbers???

Who would have the audacity to predict Brunson’s productivity would plunge running Tom T’s 2008 offense alongside a bunch of lane-clogging non-shooters that nobody ever double teams, let alone triple teams???

That said, I’d still trade Randle for Brunson in a heartbeat.

How much is he going to want? Pass if he needs a $25-$30mil per year deal and/or they are looking for picks. Seems like a Perry/Mills special to go after Sexton and throw him a bag
Mavs
C: Horford | Goga | Paul Reed |
PF: Lauri Markkanen | Randle | Tucker
SF: Trey Murphy | Trent | Anderson | Simone
SG: Vassell | Trent | Livingston
PG: Spida | Mann | Deuce

I go back and forth on Sexton

He's clearly talented and scores at a high rate on decent efficiency, but the Cavs have pretty consistently been better without him than with him

He has the game where his fit as a #2 is questionable at best, but he's not good enough to be a #1

He gives us what we need, but is it enough, and would he be a good fit next to a potential future #1?

If we're just offloading vets, and we extend him for under $25 mil per, that might be a decent gamble. But if we're consolidating youth/picks for him and giving him a full max, that's a substantial risk that I'm not comfortable with.
BaF Lakers:

Nikola Topic/Kasparas Jakucionis
VJ Edgecombe/Jrue Holiday
Shaedon Sharpe/Cedric Coward
Kyle Filipowski/Collin Murray-Boyles
Alex Sarr/Clint Capela

Bench: Malcolm Brogdon/Hansen Yang/Rocco Zikarsky/RJ Luis Jr.

The Knicks are over the cap. They can't sign Sexton or anyone else to an offer sheet. They can try to negotiate a s'n't with the Cavs, but that's something completely different and they cannot exert pressure on the Cavs in the way that a team would can sign a player to an offer sheet can.

Unless we get him on a big bargain and/or can move Randle I would just pass. On the right team he can be good, but feels like this isn’t a good spot for him and it could go down hill fast. He really needs a specific type of team and it will be tough for us to build that. I would rather let IQ start with Grimes and let them develop more

Yea I get that but he will still need a contract. What number is that gonna be? An important question.

Who is this mysterious #1 option people keep hinting at in our future? It's almost as perplexing as the mysterious PG that would be both affordable and obtainable and good enough for the Knicks!

Face reality - we are not getting a viable #1 option this decade. Nor a decent PG. Nor a top 50 NBA player.

Randle is the BEST we can do! (Knick fans please remember: suicide is not an answer) :nonono:

We're going to load up on mediocre overpriced vets so Thibs can retire in style (if he's not already retired, that is!)

Knicks are circumventing the cap by paying his dad an absurd salary, whom then will wire transfer an amount to his son to compensate him for taking less money from signing with the Knicks

This is definitely the angle the Mavericks are going to take if they file tampering charges against the Knicks.
