Perfect 2nd Option for Nikola Jokic

Post#1 » by Matt15 » Tue May 24, 2022 8:33 pm

Past or present which player do you think would be the perfect second option for Nikola Jokic? The only rule is that player can’t be a former MVP award winner.

Bubble AD or 2020 AD in general works offensively and defensively.

I'd go with one of the top defensive power forwards - JJJ would be an interesting one, Siakam a bit more actualized, Doc MJs Mobley pick an interesting one too.

Went with current guys.

Not sure about whether he would be the very best but Reggie Miller would be an awesome fit with Jokic offensively.

Honestly Murray might be pretty close, he's just not quite good enough of a player.

I'd suggest someone like Ray Allen or maybe a Reggie Miller type to really maximize the ball movement and spacing.

I think Kawhi Leonard would be perfect on Offense and Defense, but it would be 1a, 1b so I don't know if this counts. As far as a player that is worse than Jokic, I think Draymond Green.

*Green can be plugged in any team and make them much better.

jokic probably needs defensive help more than offensive one

he is so impactful in offense that you dont need to give him another offense star to create a good O (not that it wouldbt help, but a defense star with solid offense would be a more useful help)

i would be intrigued by jokic playing with another big who can protect the rim, shot and finish jokic inside passes

someone like mobley (even at his current level) or myles turner

cleveland got away with a great defense against all predictions by doing that Big ass lineup

Giannis. He's the rim protector that Jokic isn't and would just have a parade of lay-ups and dunks with their two-man game.

Oops. Like others have mentioned, healthy AD then. But assuming more realistic conditions, JJJ or Evan Mobley.

Murray is a good stylistic fit.

Bridges is beyond perfect at a lower level.

Defensively Tony Allen on the wing, Draymond on the front court.

Tony was literally unscreenable so good luck switching onto Jokic. Draymond would allow him to never leave the paint with the right scheming. Also rebounding/rim protection synergy. Jokic would have unfrocking amount of D-Rebs off Draymond’s contest game.
Swinging for the fences.
