Re: 2021-2022 College Basketball / NBA Draft
I probably just need to watch more of his videos, but Keegan Murray.... eh? He was matched up on Kofi Cockburn on the perimeter and couldn't get by him. Clear mismatch that far from the post. Was able to bully the unathletic Illinois PF but had issues with guards and Cockburn. There's not a real consideration for the Sixers to possibly get him, so I'm probably not going to watch a lot more of him, but I'd be afraid to take him top 5 after that video. Could have just been the game I was watching, however.

I don't get the Keegan Murray thing either. He's going to be 22 one month after the draft. No standout trait in his skillset. I think he's terrible value where he's being mocked.

So this guy is a sure fire role player in the next level. 6'5, shoots 8 threes a game at 38%, and has a +2 STL%? He also has a little shake to his handle. I like his game.

Older guys, but feels like he possesses some Nicolas Batum traits. Was killing the Elite camp so much they bumped him up to the combine.

They’re taking Smith not Holmgren.
Maybe. We wont know until draft day.
But I think they’ll take Chet.
Jabari is a great prospect. I’d take him over Jalen Green and Cade in last year’s draft.
But I think Chet is a one in a decade prospect that is hard to pass up.
Nevertheless Jabari would also be a great pick and a great fit.
SG: Wagner
SF: Jabari Smith
PF: Jonathan Isaac
Damn that wing trio is also very sexy
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

3&D plus some nice assist numbers. Why is he not mocked? Based on the numbers looks like he’d be a nice fit with Maxey or Harden in the backcourt.
Edit: He’s almost 24 already and slight of frame, that’s why. Still would like to buy a late 2nd and grab him.

Is there any international talent expected be around in the 2nd round that could be worth drafting/stashing?? Most of the international guys weve drafted/picked up in the past have been fruitless, but our trove of foreign players is pretty depleted.

Yeah, he's wildly old. Just four days younger than Trae Young.

Re: 2021-2022 College Basketball / NBA Draft
Just as an undrafted guy, but I'd love to have Ron Harper Jr. on the SL roster. 6'6 big body with a 7'1 wingspan and big hands. He played such a creator role at Rutgers, but he said at the combine he knows he's a role player at the next level. Believe he mentioned RoCo as someone he'll need to play like.
Not saying he's a lock to be an NBA player...with his athleticism, he really needs that shot to be more consistent...but he's the type of guy I'd take a chance on as a small ball 4.

Yep, Tevin and Bryson will be possibly two-way guys, maybe even play in G-League until they perform well enough to get snatch mid season as two way guys (like Myles Powell). I'm interested to see how they check a lot of the boxes as prospects but are just old.

I think the Magic's choice comes down to whether they keep Bamba or not.
Bamba with Jabari is a no brainer IMO.
However, if they're going with WCJ instead... then Chet becomes much more interesting.
I think Orlando ends up trading WCJ, re-signing Bamba, and drafting Jabari. But we'll see.

Re: 2021-2022 College Basketball / NBA Draft
Think my first choice of the realistic options at #23 is Jaden Hardy. Can't pass that upside. His shooting was inefficient for G-League Ignite but that 88% FT makes me think he'll be a good shooter in time. Similar to Tyrese Maxey...

Just trying to keep up with the top prospects.
Quick impressions of Jabari Smith; feels like a Dirk type player. Needs to learn how to become as efficient as Dirk used to be with as few dribbles as possible. That shot is clean. His defense is elite.

The more I watch Jabari highlights he kinda looks like an evolutionary Bernard King or something. Just the way he moves, faces up, and uses his length feels like watching an 80s highlight reel.

Re: 2021-2022 College Basketball / NBA Draft
Uh oh, might be unpopular opinion alert:
I like Holmgren better than Jabari after first watch. Both have a few flaws that bother me: Jabari's 2FG is atrocious for someone his size; Holmgren's FT% deteriorated as the season progressed. Holmgren feels like the better homerun pick with the first overall. That's just my opinion on the two at a very quick glance. I haven't even really dove into Banchero yet.
Quick glance with no tape, Banchero's FT% dies at the end of the season also. Would want a 75+% from my #1 pick (or at least some marked improvement as the season progressed showing some comfort with the college game) if his trait is shooting which, presumably Holmgren and Banchero's are. Tough first pick, imo.

Re: 2021-2022 College Basketball / NBA Draft
I feel like my unpopular opinion is actually that Chet is more of a sure thing and that Jabari has a higher ceiling.
Chet is too long and too skilled to not be a good player. He’s a connector on offense, can shoot it, has some nice ball skills, and he’s a monster on defense because he’s so long & smart. He will absolutely find a way to be at least a super high quality role player. His ceiling is hampered by his body because I don’t think he’ll be able to add that much weight or strength. And he doesn’t have an elite offensive trait to become a true superstar.
Jabari has a higher ceiling to me because of his jumper. It’s so good that if he learns to weaponize it he could be a true #1 option on a really good team.

Malaki Branham at #1.
I don't get how teams can't see it. He's the most skilled of all the freshman aged players. He's the best shotcreator of all the freshman aged players. He's the most efficient of all the freshman aged players. He's a no-brainer.
