Re: Trade Ideas for This Season
Knicks might be willing to trade Cam Reddish for not too much this offseason, considering Thibodeau doesn't want to play him much. He at least would give the Jazz some length defensively, though his offense can be erratic.

Would Utah consider Mitchell for Maxey and Harris from Philly.
I doubt they can offer a first unless late this decade , but they have about 4 promising youngsters you might also be able to add 1 or 2 of.
It would be Conley, Mitchell, and Gay for Harris, Maxey, Thybuille, Shake, and a couple 1sts.
Harris/Maxey/Thybulle/Green/#23 for Mitchell/Conley/O'Neale?
I personally like this trade for the jazz. Those guys would improve our defense/toughness immensely and combined i think would equal the offense we'd lose.

I honestly like the lineup for you guys a lot. There are several pieces that fit nicely. If it didn’t work out, Tobias expires in 2 years and you can still trade Gobert in a year or two.
Maxey/Clarkson
Thybulle/Butler
Bojan/#23
Harris/Gay
Gobert/Whiteside
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:
Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon
George/Oubre/Edwards
Barlow/Watford/Walker
Embiid/Drummond/Bona/Broome

Re: Trade Ideas for This Season
Tobias Harris is a good player
Tobias Harris has the worst contact in the league
Harris needs to come with incentive to be included. That incentive doesn't suddenly get to make up for the missing Donovan value. Maxey has shown well. But let's pump the brakes. He has not shown to be a #1 scoring option. He is not close to Donovan's value by himself.

I'm a Maxey believer, so I have no qualms about him being the centerpiece of a deal. He is an absolute monster competitor, I love watching him get animated.
I think my major issue is whether a team with Thybulle and Gobert in the starting lineup will be able to score. I suspect not - and then you have to pay Thybulle. I also like Jaden Springer a lot, I had him top 10 on my big board and I think he has a really high ceiling.
Maxey + Harris + Springer + Joe + Reid + Milton + 2022/23 PHI 1st (depending on which one BRK takes) + 2023 ATL/CHA/BRK 2nd (best)
I think that is the package I would push for. Philly keeps Thybulle, Utah gets some cheap players to help balance out Harris' money.
I still prefer a Miami trade, though. I think Herro is the best individual player we are likely to get for Donovan.

Re: Trade Ideas for This Season
I'd like to see us go hard after Kyrie. We have tried to get him in the past so I think there may be mutual interest.
Bojan + O'neale + Conley + Butler + 2026 UTA 1st (swap) + 2027 UTA 1st (unprotected) + 2028 UTA 1st (swap) + 2029 UTA 1st (unprotected)
for
Kyrie (just below a max contract to avoid BYC, sign and trade) + Mills
Kyrie would have to be paid about $40,000,000 to start instead of $42,000,000 to avoid BYC.
Irving/Mitchell
Mitchell/Clarkson
???/House
???/Hernangomez
Gobert/Azubuike
That is a big 3 that can be a contender. If we could also get Durant for Mitchell, all the better.

Mitchell/Kyrie backcourt would be even worse defensively than Mitchell/Conley...... That team is no contender.......

If the jazz keep Mitchell they HAVE to do something to address perimeter defense.

This team has not had a second star player on offense, I think it is closer than we are now by quite a bit. I agree that we would need to fill out the rest of the starting lineup with plus defenders, and hopefully rework the bench to get more defenders. I'd also be willing to try and trade Donovan for a better defensive player (e.g. Jaylen Brown) to make this work. Opportunities to trade for stars come up rarely, this might be a chance.

We've had sustained interest in the past and attempted to trade for him. I assume that means we had intel that he may have been interested in playing for us. Not claiming it would be his preferred destination, just that it could be something to look into: https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2718987-kyrie-irving-to-jazz-paul-george-to-cavaliers-trade-rumors-refuted#:~:text=A%20blockbuster%20trade%20rumor%20made,%2Dand%2Dtrade)%20to%20the

I think any interest the Jazz had in Kyrie was lost years ago after all his crazy the last 3-4 years. His talent does not surpass hiw unreliable he is.

Homer take, but....Jazz/Hornets/Blazers/Spurs --
Jazz send Gobert
Jazz receive Rozier, Plumlee, #9, #13, #20
Hornets send Rozier, Washington, Plumlee, #13, #15
Hornets receive Gobert
Blazers send #7
Blazers receive Washington (TPE), #15
Spurs send #9, #20
Spurs receive #7
Jazz draft Daniels(#9), Eason/Sochan/Duren(#13), Jovic/Hardy/Terry(#20)
Hence, the Jazz convert Gobert into Rozier/Daniels/Eason/Jovic/Plumlee.

Utah would be mad to pay real assets (the unprotected icks) for kyrie. Blow up your future for a flake

I think it's worth the risk. Maybe not what I posted, consensus seems to be that's way too much, but whatever we can do that ends up being the highest bid I'm on board for. Irving/Mitchell/Gobert is the most talented trio we've had in the post-Stockton/Malone years by far.

So there is interest to trade for OG? That's something I think Utah should explore for Rudy. Raptors have a plethora of interesting bigs that can be added to the Anunoby deal
Bit complicated with the salaries but I'm thinking Gobert for OG + Precious/Birch + Flynn

Re: Trade Ideas for This Season
What would you guys want back in a trade for Mitchell? If we are building around Gobert you wouldn't want tons of picks you would need some potential players that could be good soon. A rebuild around Gobert can't take as long as he is 28. I would think we would want some players that have been in the league a couple years with potential
Maybe something like
Utah trades: Mitchell
Utah receives: Rozier, Barrett, Reddish, Quickly, 2020 draft pick #11
Charlotte trades: Rozier, 2020 draft pick #15
Charlotte receives: Randle
New York trades: Randle, Barrett, Reddish, Quickly, 2020 draft pick #11
New York receives: Mitchell, 2020 draft pick #15
Utah trades their star for lesser version in Rozier, some young potential in Barrett, Reddish, Quickly and get a draft pick in this years draft.
Charlotte gets a big they can pair with Lamelo and takes a chance his attitude stays in New York.
New York moves Randle which they have soured on gets a star in Mitchell and only falls back 4 spots in the draft without losing any picks. It also leaves them with Obi and Grimes to build with around Mitchell and cap room to pull in a decent free agent.

Re: Trade Ideas for This Season
The more trade offers I see for Gobert and Mitchell the less and less I like the pieces. Feels like any option is just treading water until the inevitable.
I'm still going to beat the new coach drum (which isn't going to happen, I know). It could change a lot for the team without giving up your best players for lesser value. Look what a difference a new coach did for the Celtics. ....and also Tatum taking the next step- a step I don't think Mitchell has, so why hitch your wagon to him as the guy?
Blah. I hate all the options apparantly.
