First time I saw Ray Liotta was in Something Wild. Super fun 80s movie that starts out as romance and turns into a thriller. Ray Liotta is superb and terrifying. Great movie, great performance.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

I remember Something Wild but didn't remember Ray Liotta was in it. It's been a while...

Andor and Willow trailers came out following the Disney event thing. Both look very promising.

Ray Liotta being fed his own brain matter by Anthony Hopkins in Hannibal will forever be seared into my brain. RIP Ray.

I'm not into country, but I really like Shelby Lynne and Allison Moorer. Not everything they do is country though, and when it is it's not really traditional country. Maybe try 'Identity Crisis' or 'Suit Yourself' by Shelby Lynne, and 'Miss Fortune' or 'The Duel' by Allison Moorer.

Here's one of my faves from Allison Moorer:

Yeah, they used to pull her out for the national anthem quite a bit IIRC.

Episodes 4 and 7 were incredible. I can’t even imagine what episodes 8/9 are going to be like, the 9th episode is two and a half hours long.

I don't know much about current country music, but I listened some decades ago, and hence know something about the classics.

1. Perhaps the most underrated country singer ever is somebody who got that way because it wasn't the genre she was most known for.

2. Another underrated one, in her case perhaps because she started out as an exploited teenage girl, then understandably burnt out.

3. Country happens to be a genre in which there were some good duets. They tend to be on the sentimental side (as does a lot of classic country).

Real-life couple who met rehearsing this performance

Real-life couple, long-term on and off

Disco hybrid -- I think it was written by one of the Bee Gees

4. Not so sentimental

I hear she had an okay backup band.

The Eagles (or what later on would become the Eagles), no?

The Eagles weren't really her backup band. She is however credited for bringing them together, and performed with them a little.

Also, she had a tour on which Steve Martin opened for her.

Actually, we have a video of her performing one of the true classic country songs, with the Eagles:

Long ago, when I was in the teenage/frequent-heartbreak stage of life, I popped into an unlocked, nearly unfurnished dorm room. Neither of the rather gorgeous residents was there (they were both attended a summer school dance program), but there was a radio on the floor, playing a song that spoke to me.
