I have no doubt that Luka will have some monster games in this series. He'll adjust.

Doncic is such a great player to watch. It'll be near impossible to keep him to the performance he had last game every game.

As many have been pointing out, the Mavs are 2-6 in games when Luka scores 40 and were 6-1 in games when Dirk did. Scoring 40 is great, but in a loss, not so much.

The Mavs weren't heliocentric with Dirk like they are with Luka. They need to figure out if heliocentric Luka caps their ceiling, but to this point, this seems to be the way Luka is built to play, and he's really good at it.

But he does make some bad decisions and forces tough shots inside against multiple defenders. He would benefit by having a better version of the offense that doesn't have the perimeter guys standing still, which makes them easier to defend. They need off-ball actions to occupy the defense and generate cutting opportunities. With that, they'd rely less on Luka's own scoring and allow him to create more for others. They need to leverage the spacing benefits of all that perimeter shooting in better ways than just Luka or sometimes another guy driving one-on-whatever.

His only bad elimination game of his career. He was elimination game James Harden for most of the night. Had that run at the end of the 3rd but he was really really bad rest of the night on both ends. Dont think it mattered tho they were never gonna come back down 0-3 anyways

he'll learn from this but helioball will never be it he knows his defense and conditioning have to be better. Hes prolly the favorite for Mvp again next season but he was the favorite 2 other seasons too i think he'll take it more seriously now

unreal season once again as has every season of him since acb debut.still ways to improve.conditioning, free throws, and some minor decision making obstacles.besides that one of the true all-time greats.i find the harden comparisons laughable to be honest.just completely different tier and talent level.
lets hope the mavs can find talent around him.luka and the scrubs is cool for some time but its time to go to work now.well...on to eurobasket in september...

yeah that's, like, your opinion

well of course it is but you cant deny that there is upside in terms of talent level doncic is surrounded with.i dont think it should be the end of the teams development.

Needs better conditioning, D and shot selection. Needs more talent around him. Dallas needs more off-ball movement to move defenders around behind on-ball action. Get off-ball defenders busy so they have a harder time providing help D, and to generate more shots for teammates who arent calcifying in position. Needs a frontcourt that doesnt suck/isnt abused horribly on the glass.

Luka is very good and will continue to be so. Team composition, too many stepback 3s, individual defensive effort and offensive scheme are his biggest enemies right now.
