That would be hilarious.

Yea it would be much more newsworthy if he said "well I don't know if we can handle game 7"

I expect every player to say what Jimmy said

Boston wins game 7 by 20 and we get the Golden State-Boston series we have all wanted.

This might be the series I least want.

No one asked him if he thought they would win Game 7. He added that unprompted.

Let me be clear, I have zero problem with him saying it, in fact I think it's great and shows the type of player and leader that Butler is.

But let's not pretend he had to either say they're going to win it or say they're going to lose it. He didn't have to say anything at all about it.

Yeah saying we're gonna lose next game doesn't go down well

Great quote by the hero Butler who averaged 9 points in the last 3 games.

He can say whatever he wants. If Boston doesn't give them 20 turnovers, game 7 will end up like game 5 or game 2 where he scored 29 and they still lost big.

Even if Boston win game 7, I'm pissed off they can't win easy home games in PO. They have to risk everything on road games. I thought they could beat Warriors but letting one player who cant shoot beat you game 6 with Heat having no half court offence made realise no chance! Their offence suck too much to win the finals even if they beat Heat next game.....

I dont mind this, its a good frame of mind to be in and by declaring it, if he wins he gets the glory and if he loses he gets the shame.

Thats fair to me. Say what you mean and then go back it up.

He said it to instill confidence in his teammates, they’re going to have to be on their A game, and they have to believe they can win first, Jimmy is just helping with that.

Teams that win game 7 go on to win the series 100% of the time.

I really want Boston to win. Never been to the NBA Finals before and I plan to go to a game in Boston if they win. Also, I just like the Celtics more than the Heat.

Miami might lose ofc, decent chance of that for some strange reason HC don't mean much to these Celtics
but do you think he's gonna be "satisfied" after being 1 game from the Finals with a game at home?

because his "legacy" was bolstred by tonight or some s***?

ur way off bro..dude wants to win - only winning will be satisfying for him

Biiiig swing and a miss.
Melo and amare should thrive in this offense. If Jeremy Tyler and cole Aldridge looked that good in summer league then us knick fans have a lot to be excited about. Make room for all the bandwagoners when we take off

Love it. That old school fire, calling your shot in the media.

There's a way to do that so it doesn't bite you in the ass.

You make the guarantee in private and after you win your guarantee comes out to the public and if you lose nobody will know about it.

Now Butler is in the position that .... there was a quarterback that said during a playoff OT coin toss, "We'll take the ball and we're gonna score" and then he proceeded to throw a pick six and lost the game.

Still it's forgettable unless he chokes. If he does well he could become a sort of Mark Messier like Messiah.
