He's more concerned getting ready for his golf match next week. I hope he will (but doubt he will) work out with his WR corps a lot over the next couple of months. And he should play a bit in preseason (again I doubt he will). I don't want another week 1 debacle like last year, especially since it's Minny this year.

Yeah no doubt. That's such a damn snake bit situation, from the timing of the original injury to Bak unfortunately having constant complications with the recovery. We're so used to knee surgeries/recovery going smoothly these days it a brutal reminder that these used to end careers regularly. Hopefully he finds a way to get it right by September.

Should go without saying but none of this is Baks fault, I'm sure he's more frustrated than anyone about all this.

Guessing it'll be handled well before training camp.

Are we really back to the "not committed" thing already ?? It didn't age very well last season. It's actually trolling at this point. He doesn't have to be here and he doesn't need to be here.

I think Rodgers not being here until training camp is good for the WR's. Let them learn the offense and get their feet wet before throwing them into the mental fire with Rodgers at the helm. They have more than enough on their plate without having the Rodgers pressures. And let's not forget that this is Love's last chance to show something before a decision is made on his future.

That's where I'm at as well. Getting more time to evaluate Love is a big deal and likely outweighs any other factor right now.

An interesting article on Packers.com about Yosh Nijman - commentary on both the Niner game and in the OTA's (he's seeing reps at LT as well as RT)

https://www.packersnews.com/story/sports/nfl/packers/2022/05/29/packers-tackle-yosh-nijman-dealing-disappointment-benching/9948246002/

One open organized team activity session was enough to show the glaring holes on the Packers' offensive line. During position drills, David Bakhtiari and Elgton Jenkins stood to the side, watching their linemates. They, conceivably, could be the Packers' bookend tackles this season.

In their absence, Nijman repped at left tackle during the practice. He started eight games there last season, an injury replacement that morphed into something of a revelation. In almost 600 snaps, Nijman allowed 17 pressures, including 3.5 sacks. For a former undrafted tackle who played only 14 snaps his first two years, the Packers hardly could have asked for better.

Nijman's progress was enough to make him the frontrunner to be the Packers' starting right tackle this fall, if the team decides to keep Jenkins at left guard once he returns from a torn ACL. Asked about the position battle, Nijman again defaulted to humility.

“I feel like (there’s an opportunity) for anyone,” Nijman said. “It’s not just me. Wherever the coaches feel like they need to put their best players. I’ll be prepared to be the starter if the opportunity presents itself.”

My first bold prediction is that Juwan Winfree makes the 53.

Also think Doubs has a better year than Watson

Maybe if his name was Denise instead of Dennis.

Don't think that's too bold. Doubs is a legit route runner and Watson still has some concentration drops. I think he'll clean it up, but could be frustrating to watch year 1.

Yeah I think Watson will still have an impact, but I really like Doubs

Agreed. I'm excited to see Watson on jet sweeps, orbit routes or bubble screeens. I like Doubs a lot as well. His hands are catchers mits.

I don't understand how your name is Amari Rodgers and you aren't present at OTA's. Are you actually trying to have a career? After last season you're closer to being left out in the cold than a shoe-in for the roster. At this point, the only thing you serve as is a way to shave an extra 400k this year.

They'll give Amari every chance to make the initial 53-man cut, but I still don't see much hope for him.

Watkins
Watson
Lazard
Doubs
Cobb

That's your 5 locks in the WR room IMO. Is he even gonna beat out Winfree, Malik Taylor, and Samori Toure for reps? Will we even carry more than 5 WR's on the roster? I doubt it at this point.

*As of today*, Given the questions on the recovery timing of both Bakhtiari and Jenkins, I'd guess it's more likely they carry an additional OLineman on on the 53 man roster than years past. Of course, maybe all is well with those two by the time that decision has to be made. Even LaFleur waffled yesterday on Bakhtiari being ready for the start of the season.

From Packers.com:
https://www.packers.com/news/hungrier-kylin-hill-trusting-the-process-during-comeback

Interesting article on Kylin Hill and his rehab progress

Hill has spent a lot of time this spring with both Jenkins and Tonyan, who also tore his ACL in that Week 8 game against the Cardinals. The trio talk every day, providing words of encouragement and motivation to get back on the field.

When he's not rehabbing, Hill has been diligent about staying in his playbook and understanding the level of detail new special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia expects on his unit.

Hill actually has some history with Bisaccia, whom he was introduced to during the pre-draft process in 2021. So far, the second-year running back has liked what he's seen.

There also been a bit of a change on the offensive side of the ball with Adam Stenavich taking over as coordinator for Nathaniel Hackett, now the head coach of the Denver Broncos.

While he doesn't know when he'll be cleared for a return, Hill is doing everything possible to prepare himself, both physically and mentally, for that day.

After showing signs of promise last year as both a running back and kickoff returner, Hill is hungrier than ever to prove he belongs.
