King was voted ahead of Magic in MVP voting and its looks close advanced stat wise
Who do you think was the better in 1984?

I don’t see a compelling reason to take King over any prime Magic year.

I can see it being close specifically in '84: it's basically King's peak, while is perhaps a slightly down year for prime Magic......at any rate he has the worst turnover rate of his entire career [by a pretty good margin, actually]; he also missed 15 games (which is 10 more than King missed that year).

Those things considered, I could see it being very very close that year.
That said, I probably hedge toward Magic.

i dont think i am knowledgeable enough on bernard king to say for sure he has no case

but it seems unlikely based on magic being magic

I don't think King has a great case. His postseason run was spectacular, but he wasn't better offensive player than Magic even shooting like that. He wasn't better on defense or on the boards either.

King took the C's 7's as did Magic, but Magic overall was better if asking who you rather have.
