Celtics officially complete Revenge Tour

Post#1 » by TrustFundBaby » Mon May 30, 2022 3:18 am

They beat Nets, who they lost to in 2021

Bucks, lost in 2019

Heat, lost in 2020

Incredible run from this core. Vanquishing their demons and finally get over the hump to get to the NBA Finals, have to give them their praises. One of the toughest runs in the East in recent memory

one of the toughest runs? don’t get me wrong they deserve credit for sure they’re a great young team, but the heat were always a pretender. the bucks were missing their second best player and the nets were a train wreck.

the only real beast team they could of beat was the bucks if they were healthy.

amazing season by the boys but i don’t think anyone went against we’re world beaters.

Deserved EC winners.

Pretty hilarious that the teams Kyrie and Kevin bailed on are in the finals and the pre-season champs got swept R1

Completed a revenge tour only to lose to the Warriors in the Finals lol.

In all seriousness, I think it will be a good series.

It will likely be a tough series that could go either way, this Warriors team isn't as unstoppable as they were in say 2017 or 2018. I would hate to try to predict the winner.

Win or lose in the Finals, damn satisfying to take the toughest route in the East and win all three series

Didn't face Celtic killer Khris, so its incomplete.

Incredibly difficult path to get to the finals. It’s been a mentally stressful run but man has it been paying off at the end of each series. The mental toughness of the Celtics has been insane these playoffs

Game 1 against the Nets: down by 3 in the final minute to beat the Nets at the buzzer
Game 2 against the Nets: down by 8 in the 4th and the Celtics storm an incredible run to smoke the Nets late

Down 1-0, 2-1, 3-2 against the bucks and then Tatum dropping 46 against the bucks in their own building before winning game 7

Down 1-0, 2-1, blowing game 6 to win the eastern conference and then coming back in game 7 on the road against the #1 seed Heat team.

Winning 7 road games in 3 series is incredible.

They've had a great run. People can make all the excuses they want, but beating the Nets, Bucks, and Heat en route to the Finals is very impressive. Much more difficult than the Warriors' run so far. Should be a tight series. Could go either way.

None of these teams that haven been beaten in the playoffs have been very impressive.

Every team this year has been mid-tier.

Beating the Nets, Middleton-less Bucks, and Heat is bleh.

This playoffs is missing all-time great teams.

Yeah they need Lebron and durant to join stacked teams and the underdog has to beat them to make it “impressive”

Its a good run. I'm just saying, their #1 demon vs Milwaukee is Khris. He always lights their teams up. So its not complete revenge.

Say whatever the hell you want, but there's no doubt that this is one of the toughest roads to the Finals in recent history despite the injuries. The Celtics had to get through 3 really tough teams: the Nets were the team that every East team avoided, the Bucks were the reigning champions, and the Heat were one of the toughest teams in the league.

They had to withstand 4 superstars and hold them in check, which they did. They manhandled KD and Kyrie, withstood multiple 40-point games from Giannis, and contained Butler enough to put themselves in position to win in 7.

Sure, they benefited from injuries (Simmons, Middleton, and Herro being the big ones), but it's not like the Celtics were healthy all throughout as well. Time Lord missed the first 2 games of the Nets series, Smart and Time Lord missed some games vs the Bucks, and Horford, Smart, and Time Lord kept shuffling in and out of the lineup the first four games against the Heat.

This has also been one of the tightest Eastern Conference races. To have Boston come out on top makes it extra special for us C's fans.

I mean yeah...

What's impressive about beating a team with one All-Star caliber and a bunch of undrafted guys?

The Heat's best scorer didn't even play.

If Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart couldn't beat the Heat that says more about them than the Heat winning.

Heat shouldn't have beaten the Celtics anyway.
