Where do you rank 2022 Jimmy Butler's Playoff Run?

Post#1 » by CodeBreaker » Mon May 30, 2022 10:00 am

Jimmy Buckets just had one of the best playoff runs in history, breaking franchise records and solidifying himself as one of the best to ever wear a Heat uniform. Where do you rank this playoff run of his in franchise history?

Jimmy earned the right to take whatever shot he wants in that final posession

but it was a boneheaded play.

down 2 with 21 seconds left.......

A franchise player should have slowed it down, called for ISO, drained the clock down a little bit, and then try to send us to OT with a hope of an And 1.

at the very least, drive at Horford.

Pull up transition 3... not his game. He bricked the very first shot of the game for us in the 1st quarter too, it was a WIDE OPEN 3. That quarter could have gone differently if we went up 3-0 instead of down 0-7

Boneheaded play. Dumb play by Jimmy but what can you do, he earned the right because he carried us this far.

To refresh everyone's memories, this is how a franchise player is supposed to handle the situation, when down 1 or 2 points and almost a full 24 seconds on the shot clock.

It doesn’t get rank. The only playoff runs that should be remembered and imortalized are those that end with a banner being hung. Period.

Probably the 3rd or 4th greatest playoff run in Heat history - behind Wade's 06 run and Bron's run in 12' and 13'.

If he made that last shot (which imo was a good look) and the Heat went on to defeat GS in the finals, I'd argue it would have been the greatest run in Heat history.

This GIF says it all. Had we won, I would rank it but we didn't. End of thread.

Its like which Tim Hardaway playoff run was the best. Or which was the best Eddie Jones playoff run.

In the words of Kyle Lowry, this season was wasted

Would have been a fun debate '22 Butler vs '06 Wade vs '12 LeBron

I didn't mind the pull-up three. Sweet gamble. Didn't win. Pure Butler ballsiness.

Firmly set at #3 behind Wade and LBJ.

I needed this to end with a championship. Just imagine the greatness of Jimmy Butler and his Heat tenure if he caps off a run like this with a championship. Had it still led to a major upgrade this offseason where we tried to run it back and compete for the remainder of his career, Dare I say, he would’ve challenged LeBron as the 2nd greatest player in Heat history.

I love Jimmy. Please go all in with our assets to win a championship for him. He deserves it

Jimmy got injured. He never got to finish his masterpiece mother f*ckers. You think a healthy Jimmy wasn't taking it all?
If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here. U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade

Honestly, I was disappointed; not rank worthy. But I've been a Heat fan since 1995.
