Makes sense. We already have a Brother (Franz and Mo)and a Son (Cole) of former players. Jabari is s Son and a Cousin. Two for one.
The issue is that Kwame happens to be one of the worst 1st overall picks ever :D :D :D Somebody pls measure Jabari's hands beforehand

Mayne this is some kind of 4D chess by Sam Presti to get him to blow his workout with Orlando. The rumors is that Chet and Presti have talked about him being selected #2 by OKC and that they are both happy.

Yes the rumor is that Chet and Presti have talked about him being picked #2

Not saying he won't workout with the team but will he give his all if he thinks he doesn't have a real chance?

lol he won’t “give his all?” If your scenario was true (it’s not), then we wouldn’t want that kind of loser mentality anyways.

It’s a good thing we are able to make our own decision, no matter how much Presti wants to control things the way he wants.

Exactly. Last season OKC wanted Mobley and it was rumored that Mobley wanted OKC as well but he ended up a Cavalier and they are ver happy they didn't accept a #6 for #3 swap :(

Hope you guys draft Jabari because I want Chet but those rumors won't impact Magic decision (even if true)

I mean its how the draft is... the 1st pick is usually disclosed 2-4 weeks out before the draft (especially when the Magic said they had no intention trading the pick).

After the 1st and even 2nd pick usually its a toss up.

Last year we knew who the top 3 were weeks before the draft. Looking back, Toronto was signaling they were going to take Barnes too. The biggest shocker was Giddey before Kuminga even tho he was younger and statistically better.

yeah on lottery night Kuminga was supposed to end up 4th or 5th and Barnes 6th or 7th...things changed with workouts.

Presti works in silence so not surprised nobody thought that we would draft Giddey (2-3 teams were very quiet about their willingness to draft him, I think Magic too with #8 if I'm not mistaken).

It's usually easier to know who's going first and second but since this draft is very close at the top, I think there will be some mistery until draft day.

Presti made a great pick.

I was looking at the Edwards, Ball, Wiseman draft odds and it was even closer than this draft and we knew Edwards was going first ahead of the draft. The odds grew as the draft got closer.

I heard Smith is -200 and Chet is +190 currently.

Here's the day of the draft odds.

Why do you have Sharpe as your favorite?

IMO highschool wasn't a challenge for him, thus he looked bored with the competition!

Hopefully he changes that mindset because I want him to be great! :D

It’s subject to change but my thought process is this...

Everyone in this draft has strengths and weaknesses. Chet, it’s his frame and his offensive ability to play a bigger a role. Jabari, it’s can he do more with the ball or is he just a role playing third option. Paolo is can he defend, can he be consistent beyond the arc and can he do what he did in college against NBA defense (I wouldn’t be mad if we picked him though). Sharpe, his offensive skills are already there. He already has an NBA body that can be built up even more. At 18.

If I’m looking for a guy I can develop, at a young age, out of all these development projects, I’m taking the guy who already has displayed the ability skills to score on all three levels with a NBA ready body.

It’s something we haven’t had in years. Something we have struggled to get in forever. If JI can stay relatively healthy, if Franz can do what on some level what Hedo did, and Mosley can really develop Sharpe appropriately, I think you have a team that attracts some serious FA noise and develop into a contender.

A lot of IF’s I know. I do still like Chet if he can showcase some offensive ability he might’ve not been able to showcase. Sharp has already shown it without the questions of his frame. You can immediately plug him in at the two spot, maybe switch him to the 3 (he’s probably got another inch or so to grow), and let Suggs and Fultz figure itself out.
