I’d rather just sign Hartenstein if Holmes is the best we can do. Keep 26 and maybe move up a few spots if anyone slips.

I think Hartenstein fits alongside Luka better and come with affordable price. But to lure Hartenstein away from LA, it takes good friend, tax free state and starting spot. LAC is arguably the 2nd best team in the West. Are there any good friend on Mavs roster ?

I consider nico right. Not like we talking about a perfect fit. We saw how horrible things were with KP when kidd had to try to play some **** postup plays to accomodate him. How did it go when we got back fitting pieces? Hell of a lot better.

I dont mind more dfss, bullocks and the likes. Better that then putting the money in ill fitting allstars like gobert.

What about a SnT (20mil/4yrs) Brunson for SnT Bamba (10 mil/3yrs), then separate trade of Mavs filler for Cole Anthony?

Magic gets the best player in Brunson and move Suggs to SG where he seems more comfortable with Fultz being the 6th man. Brunson would be their best PG since Jameer Nelson (that's a really long time) who he's better then. This would be Brunsons chance to run the show with a team with good young talent and the #1 pick. They also have the best defenders (Isaac, Carter, Chet or Jabari) of the teams interested in Brunson. That size and length will be key to hiding his defensive limitations.

Dallas gets a young talented center at a position of need. The hope is that Kidd and a winning environment would kickstart his motor since that is his primary weakness. And then you get a cost-controlled Brunson-lite in Cole. Personally I think this makes us worse short term but it's a way to manage the cap and plug holes with young talent.

Stein is reporting Mavs are determined to find cap room to bring back Pinson and Boban despite playing limited minutes.

It pays to become cheerleaders. Burke better get some ideas if he doesnt want to get unemployed. Stand up and give some high fives.

If the Mavs manage to add Lavine without giving up Brunson, that would make them a perennial top playoff team. Close to impossible.

Dinwiddie + Bullock + Green + 2 picks for Lavine.

Sign Hartenstein or Bobby Portis at center. Sign Dragic for backup PG.

Run it back. Same system.

C- Portis / Powell
PF- DFS / Kleber
SF - Doncic / Bertans
SG - Lavine / THJ
PG- Brunson / Dragic

I love Lavine but it feels like a half the defense, double the offense kinda approach which I don't like. If Brunson will go to the bench and be the best 6th man in the league I think it works better and we start Kleber. Then we find a defender instead of Dragic and if Dragic wants to come for the vet min he can.

What do y’all think of this one?

[tweet:****]1531996187842191361[/tweet:****]?s=21&t=QXDRAIBmMLGv_Pzcr96IVQ

Without having to read the article it’s says Mavs should pursue a draft day trade with the Spurs for:

Mavs get: pick 20, Doug McBuckets, and Josh Richardson

Spurs get: Tim Hardaway, pick 26, and future 1st.

Not sure why Spurs do that.
But if they would, I’d add a 3rd team.

Spurs get 26/46/THJ/future Mavs pick
Pistons get 20/Richardson/Green
Mavs get Grant/McDermott

Who is available at 20 to make us give up a 2nd first?

Mavs should only consider the Spurs trade that Dalton Trigg suggested if Poetl is in the deal instead of McDermott. Even then I wouldn't do it as I'd rather keep these FRPs for a bigger trade but it would at least make more sense.

This idea can't be real lol... THJ + two 1st for trash Richardson and whatever scraps are left at 20. Mavs need a great center not more wings anyway.

I concur in regards to the center and there are a couple of affordable ones available.

That should be the strategy. Go for high level role players that fit the team because at least they retain some trade value. More big wings less bigs and guards. They should also go foe low usage bigs who can play either big or small. Smith and Hartenstien would really be ideal for the Mavs instead of Bamba and maybe even Gobert (for him it's really the money I'm trying to avoid).

Maybe the guy is thinking that THJ would be a better fit next to Murray on a very team friendly contract, as well as a future 1st?

Brunson has huge value right now, resign him and flip him at the TDL for a star.

As much as i like Brunson i believe this would be the best for the team. Mavs are locked with their cap for the next 3 or 4 years and the best short term solution would be to get a great big guy for him. With THJ coming back and Dinwiddie proving that he could at least lead the bench, moving Brunson for a guy like Turner or even Gobert would be ideal.

But we know that Cuban won't do that because they keep saying how they want to retain him, so i guess we have to look elsewhere. The most realistic scenario in my opinion would be moving THJ/Powell/Bertans + whatever picks they have left... for someone.

If Brunson stays, which I think is likely, then let's hope Dinwiddie made enough noise to raise his value a bit. Maybe he can be packaged for a quality big man or a quality wing. Ideally another wing that can create his own shot and not wait for kick outs like Bullock or DFS. It's been doing wonders in Boston with Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum. Both 6'7 and 6'8 and can create their own shot.

You're right i haven't even thought about that. Dinwiddie could possibly be another trading asset, he did raise his value a lot in the playoffs. I am more worried about Bertans though. I said before that he'll need to have strong showing but he was kinda dissapointing.

It will be interesting to follow how much Cuban values players who get along together very well. Luka said it's good for the team that they are growing up together and i wonder if this will kinda hinder FO to trade certain players. And we all know by now how much Dinwiddie loves playing with these guys and apparently likes Dallas aswell.

Return to Dallas Mavericks
