Brunson in the playoffs this year for a conference finals team:

21.6/4.6 rpg/3.7 apg on 47/35/80 splits.

If Quickley finds a way to blatantly out-play that production, then that is a GREAT problem to have

It's going to be viewed as money/assets that could've been used elsewhere.

Used on what? All the big free agents are locked up, the only way to get a star right now is via the draft or through trades. I'm almost certain we could use the Pistons or Pacers to do salary dumps with, if it only costs us some of our stockpiles of 2nds to trade away Nerlens and Fournier, so be it.

Don't disrespect IQ by lumping him in with that list of names. He's miles ahead of anything any one of those guys have ever done in the NBA. Him earning a starting spot next season and excelling in the role is completely realistic and even very likely IMO. If only they'd just hand him the keys with confidence, continue to develop the young core and be brave enough to live with the results.

I still want nothing to do with Brunson, especially with that price tag. Knicks have to figure out an extension for RJ, they're facing either paying Mitch or letting him walk for zilch, and they're still paying Randle and Fournier big bucks. Soon it will be time to pay IQ and Obi as well. Brunson makes no sense to me.

Am starting to think You can ever have enough guards in this league.
But you better have 1 of being capable of being a 1a ball handler .

Right now we have RJ who isn’t a full time point guard and quickly who is a middle tier player at that position at best .
Drose isn’t a starter so Brunson has a clear fit here .
Actually I see him a lot like drose if he was capable of starting .

So if we lost out I’m not totally upset but somewhere you would like to add talent to the roster .
If not Brunson than who ?

Am someone who is not expecting championship but at least better than middling , like I have a higher standard than just watching homegrown.

**** **** **** I got a feeling Mavs would want a sign and trade and being a savvy FO they are they'll definitely ask us for Cam Reddish!!! And being a stupid FO we are, we'll do that. I want Cam to be the franchise player on this team!!

Cam has more talent in his pinkie toe than your RJ and Julius have head to toe combined, but you or Thibs can't see it.

It isnt wrong pining your hopes and trust on those failed picks

On a different setting. they could have been more than what they are right now. The league just doesnt emphasize a minor league/major league where these young guys can see more development time

That makes sense

All his talent is trapped in his pinkie toe

He needs to get it out of there, then.

See the article on Sims in the Sims thread. Apparently they felt he'd develop more while with the Knicks than G league.

It's alright guys... Knicks signed Rick Brunson to a 15 million a year contract for 3 years.

Jalen will sign the MLE with us.

It's all good.

Return to New York Knicks
