• The Cs won four games in the first 3 rounds where they were trailing double-digits.
• They won four wire-to-wire games. Had at least one in each of the rounds including the ECF clincher.
• They led by double-digits at some point of 14 of the 18 games they've played so far.

Had the highest net rating in the playoffs as well, while facing some stiff competition.

Yep, thanks to six double-digit wins including four by 20+. Only lost by double digits twice and no more than 12 points.

Wing duo of Tatum and Brown as the closest thing to MJ and Pippen is starting to become more real!

KC Jones won a championship his first season as Celtics head coach.

But I think Ime is the only other rookie Celtics coach to go to the Finals. Red did not. Russell did not, even though he finished with 2 rings in 3 seasons. Tommy did not. Bill Fitch did not. Nobody between KC and Doc made the Finals at all.

Correct. Amazing achievement by Ime already but he's not done yet.

Milwaukee outside of Giannis is old. Harden might continue to regress and I'm not too worried about the Celtics handling Embiid in the playoffs anyway. Irving and Durant aren't getting any younger and they have an entire rotation to reconfigure with very limited assets. Toronto and Cleveland have good defenses and intriguing young pieces but they lack a truly high end creator in the halfcourt. Miami is probably going to keep hanging around but Butler/Lowry/Tucker have a ton of miles on their bodies. This was Udoka and Stevens first year on the job, having to adjust the roster on the fly. Tatum gets better every year. This should be the year Boston is most vulnerable for a while.

Today, we're in the best position in the east. But teams rebuild and reload fast. Philly, Miami and Milwaukee look like they're at the end of their run - maybe Miami can get Harden? Functional Brooklyn is still good. Raps, Hawks, Cavs, Hornets are imo in striking distance within the next 2-3 years. Big trade, internal development, lucky draft pick or FA steal.. but we have the best young "core" in the conference. Hawks would need Hunter to turn into a 2-way star, Cavs need good trades and won't find them easy, they're going to be with Charlotte in that up and down 40-48 win tier. Lamelo/Bridges are good but they need a star 4/5 to contend and they can't get one.

This is an all-timer thread. Definitely way better casting than HBO's Winning Time. The responses made me lol fr.

Very little to do with the upcoming Finals matchup, but still a staggering stat.

Maybe a Robert DeNiro cameo as Pat Riley?

Lots of candidates for Mike Budenholzer. I'd actually have said Joss Whedon, who rarely works as an actor and presumably costs little when he does, but he's a PR negative right now.

Terry Rozier, at #16 in 2015, was pretty good, too.

Post#1775 » by Bleedsgreen » Fri Jun 3, 2022 2:29 am

Got a question are their other feeds of the game?, Asking cause my elderly mother been watching and complaining about the broadcast, that during the game their cutting to studio with a comedian who doing voice imitations of charles barkley and other stuff? I have not noticed this at all though paying little attention to none game action. She adamant she been watching the wcvb feed.
So ABC doing crap on the main feed? or she tuned into some other feed?

There was an ESPN2 feed that had heavy commentary overlay with three guys in casual clothes chatting about random things.

ESPN also has a feed with no commentary whatsoever -- just sounds from the arena.

It also has a feed with Spanish commentary.

interesting thing is watching teams scramble and being forced to change lineups trying to compete with this squad. Going small, going big, different attempts at matching up with the Celts size and skill. In the meantime the Celts just motor right along doing their thing forcing other teams to change up.

It was heartening to see Tatum stay involved when not having his shot. He didn't vanish. My sense it might have something to do with GS being softer on D and less physical than what we've seen in our conference. But on that the clips i saw GS was being a bit physical, more than I expected.

I think people have to keep things in context. This isn't a very good Warriors team. They came out of a very weak Western Conference beset by injuries to its biggest stars. Nuggets without Murray and MPJ, Clippers without Kawhi and George. AD and Lebron injured off/on all season, Zion missed all season, CP3 injured in the playoffs. They won the war of attrition and beat really weak teams to get to the Finals. They're old, Klay is coming off missing two years and has clearly lost a step, Green is seemingly more concerned about tweeting and podcasts than being a great player and they're very talented young players just aren't ready and former #2 pick Wiseman hasn't even played. This is why I felt it could be a 5 game series. They don't have an answer for us. Any other team we might have faced from the West would have given us a tougher matchup. While I'm happy we finally faced a healthy (relatively) team for once, we still won't really find out how elite we might be. Like, we know we're good. But can we be 2008 good? Can we be dynasty good? That only gets answered if we beat healthy elite teams and that's not what we're getting these playoffs.
