He would need a strong team of investors. Not a Ted fan by any means, but to say they are the most consistently well-run franchise when they wouldn't re-sign Trea Turner, Anthony Rendon and Bryce Harper? Yes, they won a WS and Ted won a Cup. Sad that the Lerners, who are worth over $5B apparently, are the best of a bad lot.

The nationals have done the two most important things to me....they have a legitimately good fan experience and have won -
Ted was blessed with a generational talent in ovie...it’s almost like he didn’t win enough with that man on the team and the wizards are a dumpster full of used baby diapers on fire.
Fan experience sucks...ticket prices too high for the product...and until the current GM, we didn’t seem to have any hope even with Wall and Beal. Ted’s not the worse owner in town by virtue of Dan’s existence

Eff Turd. Crazy idea: How about you plow a little of the gobs of money you’ve got from the continually rising value of the Wiz back into making them a contender?

Another franchise to run into the ground, sure.

I was pissed off when every offseason we kept letting the hitters go but always offering $100 million contracts to pitchers. I'm sure the analytics say otherwise but I find it hard to believe a pitcher who's on the mound every 5 days is worth more than a guy who is out there every day. Corbin's contract is horrendous for example, and Strasburg isn't doing too great now. That being said, the only hitter I was frustrated they let go of was Turner. You can make the argument Soto's rise led to Harper leaving, Rendon has been injury prone since he signed with Anaheim. Trea is the one that I felt they should have made a better effort to sign long term.
Bickerstaff: who's up for kickball?!!
Ed Wood: Only if it's the no-pants variety.

Look ted has his issues but he is far from the worst owner in sports. He just isn't all that bad. He's won cups and he's made legit play off runs with the wiz. He's not a terrible owner like Snyder is.

Ted would look better if he canned Grunfeld in 2010 and got a real executive in there from Day 1.

Snyder is a very very very low bar to set.
At best he’s mediocre. But my honest assessment is he’s a little worse than that, considering his loyalty to Grunfeld and his moves that saved his own GM job but handicapped any prospects of building a contender. Unfortunately, I believe Turd got just what he wanted. A safe cash cow, fans be dammed.

Ted Lerner has been an excellent owner. Had a plan. Stuck to it. Hired a great baseball guy to lead the org.
On occasion it seems he meddled a little… but all in all, the Nats are our best run franchise (low bar, I know).

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

I dunno. He lucked into championships with the Caps, Mystics, and his silly eSports team. Plus the indoor football thingamabob. Shoot, I'd take Leonsis running the local NFL franchise over the current douch3bag. I bet he would have overpaid to keep Bryce Harper, and probably would have ante'd up on Soto. Ted's deal is overpaying for loyalty and his homegrown guys. Even if that gets in the way of other considerations.

Pretty sure we wouldn’t have won a WS had we overpaid for Harper. We wouldn’t have had room under the cap to sign Corbin, who now stinks but was the final piece to the puzzle in 2019.
And trading Soto was ridiculously hard to do but necessary. Over the years, we’d done deadline deal after deadline deal to get a legit WS contender. We needed to replenish the farm to have any chance of scaling the mountain again.
I’m quite close to 100% certain that Ted Leonsis would be an abject failure as owner of the Nats.
The Commodes on the other hand. Yes, can he purchase them tomorrow pretty please.
