Or very good timing considering their draft history.

Good on him all the best to him, sucks for us though especially with the draft so close… I’m sure it won’t affect much though.

I always thought he was good wasn’t he the only one to survive the Hennigan era?
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

I just hope Jeff and John don't do something crazy in the draft.

Most of draft work is already done and i think we need some fresh blood in our scouting department.
Best of luck to Matt, he was really a class act.

this is what i think. and if losing 1 person sinks our draft strategy and planning, our entire front office needs to be fired.

I suppose it’s not great timing, but you could tell me any person (including Weltman/Hammond) in this front office was leaving and I wouldn’t really bat an eye.

I think we have one of the more mediocre front offices in the league. Not wholly incompetent, but nothing special.

I like what their building... and i think taking a step back and looking at the big picture... they are doing a pretty darn good job.

Main reason i would be against it though is... we will have to then go and deal with the vision of someone different... .kicking the can down the road even longer. lol

Seems to me like a position that doesn't even need to be filled...How many GM's are there nowadays? Scouts and WeHam is fine...I just hope Lloyd wasn't the one doing all of the work. I want to give Weltman more credit than that...bloated staff, no big loss.

Just let the 25 year old Devos kid make the choice.

I think this could be a pretty big loss for us. We're starting to build a nice young team with good potential and he happens to leave when we won the 1st pick with 3 legit options.

As far as I know, he's been a pretty important person for us when it came to the draft. Hopefully Weltham and whoever replaces Lloyd will make the right choice regardless, whoever they think that is.

Congratulations to Lloyd though. He's definitely earned it. He seemed to be well liked by the players, FO, and owners.

I still remember Vanderweide drunk dialing Dwight. It's funny now.

What's the last time another team actually hired away one of our execs? I can't remember it happening.

A big loss for The Magic.

Lloyd was a holdover from the previous regime and there was a reason he was kept on.
