brandon roy was really good but i think prime butler is someone i would take over roy

like 17-22 if i had to say

2009 roy was quite a solid peak IMO. i'd say as a player butler's probably been consistently better though but in terms of season by season valuation, roy was great in 2009 and played 78 regular season games + a good R1 series. i would knock butler for missed games

2017 butler is better. not sure i can say 2018 and 2019 butler added more cumulative value. only 59 GP in 2018 and 2019 GP in 65 (and 2019 was probably a step down from 2018 anyway). 2020 and 2022 get the push from the postseason. 2021... maybe butler's best regular season on a rate basis but very short and horrendous postseason. missed plenty of games too. might have to go roy there as well

so i'd probably say 2017, 2020, and 2022. 2015 too maybe
