Re: OG Anunoby
if you do this, then Franz is moving to PF. if the front office is drafting Chet, i would be down for it. obviously doesnt work if they are drafting Jabari. and OG is tough enough he and Franz can switch as needed and OG could guard PF's

The trade is an asset upgrade that leads to even further roster imbalances.
The Magic needs a starting SG.

I'd definitely do this, OG can play 2, 3, or 4 (in small ball lineups). I think he and Franz could coexist and the cost is pretty low in this incarnation of the trade idea.

OG is worth more than that. Toronto says no & we doesnt need a starting SF.

Re: OG Anunoby
IF you could get OG for that proposed deal, you jump ALL over it...6'7 lockdown defenders who shoot 37% from 3 on a high volume don't grow on trees...TOR wouldn't go for it, but he's definitely one of the premier young talents that MAY be available and under a reasonable deal...Call him whatever you want...we can have 3 SF's on the court if Fultz or Suggs is our PG. Franz is no spot up shooter, he's a point forward, so they (and Jabari) can certainly flourish together. Lots of pods last year speculated that OG was on a Siakim trajectory and has a lot more offensive game to show yet, given the opportunity.
Skills, not positional labels is what we need to be focused on. OG is a beast and maybe even
better in the next situation.

Re: OG Anunoby
There isn't a chance that Toronto bite on that offer. As much as I like OG, I'm struggling to envision a deal that the Raptors would go for that doesn't involve giving up one of our building blocks.

Of course the Magic would and should do this, but Toronto laughs at this offer.

So what's a fairer one? Hard to gauge what TOR needs since, according to many of their posters, all of their players are All-Stars

TOR sends: OG Anunoby, Precious Achiuwa, Khem Birch
ORL sends: WCJ, Cole Anthony, Terrence Ross, lesser of ORL/CHI '23 frp's
For TOR, I believe Anthony becomes a very good PG in this league with the right mentor (FVV), WCJ is a legit big man with solid play on both ends and improving 3pt range, TRoss offers explosive, versatile play off the bench (something they lack) and, at worst, an expiring deal. Khem Birch has become a negative value with his new deal-so consider ORL taking him another plus for TOR. The 2023 first is likely mid-first, whether CHI slides a bit and/or ORL surprises - either way, it's a significant but not crippling asset.
For ORL, OG is a young solid piece that immediately upgrades our defense and floor-spreading shooting. Expect him to make a leap offensively with the opportunity (in ORL) to become more of an offensive focal point. WCJ is a very valuable player with a great deal, but you have to give to get...this deal is counting on a clean bill of health for Isaac, who, in theory, is the best, most complementary Center to our roster, including Jabari Smith. Isaac redefines modern NBA Center with his rim protection and limitless switching and passing lane disruption. IF he develops ANY kind of offense, it's a bonus. Achiuwa is a solid, physical young big to back up 4/5. Khem returns with RoLo's job- set picks, be a professional example to the young'uns, contribute tough, physical play when called upon. Maybe Bamba (if we keep him on a team-friendly deal) bows up and doesn't allow Birch to kick his ass out of the rotation again. I believe OG can consistently defend 2's and bully them on the other end. This is a long, strong lineup with much improved shooting and elite defensive potential at every spot. Franz (and our PG's) explodes as a secondary playmaker scoring at the rim and kicking out to a handful of sharpshooters. We still have plenty of cap space when the dust settles if we choose to get off Bamba and Harris (who both fit pretty well). Everyone on the roster has positional versatility making for matchup nightmares on both ends.
Isaac/Bamba?/Birch
Jabari Smith/Achiuwa/M. Wagner
Franz/Okeke/2rp
Anunoby/G. Harris?/2rp
Fultz/Suggs/Hampton

You can't have too many 2 way guards/forwards, but don't you guys need a pure 2 guard more. GTJ is someone you guys should go after, he's only 23 too.

i will acknowledge right off the bat that it's probably me just being ignorant but.....i've always been a little cautious about players who i've only seen play in one environment...like is he an actual good player or is he a beneficiary of his environment and the system and players within? you take a player out of that environment and put him in a new one where all the attention is on you, all of a sudden you don't have as much space to do what you did before.....will you be as good as you were before? i struggle with that when considering OG

Re: OG Anunoby
No.
OG is good, but Orlando is taking a big in this draft regardless. Franz needs to play as much as possible and this pick isn’t sitting on the bench. Toronto can also get more somewhere else. Also, Isaac is still on this team.
Before someone responds with some absurd lineup that doesn’t make sense - no.

He's fine. He is a nice player. His numbers are a bit inflated because Nurse played a very short rotation. Anunoby has always had some issues with availability. I wouldn't give up that Bulls pick to get him until I have a good idea of where it is going to land.
Toronto's situation starts to get much more complicated after next season. Their core pieces all have player options and VanVleet and Trent can opt out next year. Siakam is already on big money and surely VanVleet will be as well after they extend him. Anunoby can opt out the following year and he is going to want to get paid. How many core pieces can Toronto afford to keep?
If the Bulls' pick is the carrot you are dangling, then I don't see the point in making that move right now. Wait for Toronto's situation to get more complicated. I don't think Ujiri is going to rush the resolution on their cap situation, so I'd wait for the pressure to build. You are going to pay a premium for Anunoby right now, even if Ujiri has decided that he is the core piece that they will eventually part with.
