Now he’s wearing the same practise jersey Kobe did when he worked out for the Celtics.

I think it’s corny. He wants so bad for the narrative to be that he’s the next Kobe and going way out of his way for that story to be written.

I mean, he LOVES Kobe. He's a very, very humble kid- so I think more than anything this is a tribute and a way of motivating himself.
There is zero self indulgence in this tbh.

It’s almost an insult to idolize Kobe so much it bears a slight bit of ignorance to Jordan i but I have realized Jordan is still a league figure on an opposing franchise.

He never practiced with Jordan, he grew up watching Kobe who was playing while he was growing up and talked to him regularly as a mentor lol.

Sweet and corny would not be the description if Kobe had answered on that text :eek2:

I love sweet corn- is that an option?

Honestly if you lose someone you care about and it inspires you…

Some people in some communities get tats wear tee shirts and or swear by their dead loved ones name…. Tatum is from THAT community. Let that man grieve and celebrate the life of his friend his way

I think this is bad ass Tatum is doing this. Anything to pump himself up. How ironic it's a famous Laker spirit helping him mentally to be the next Boston Celtics great. Goes to show underneath the veil, they're all brothers.
Kobe Bryant forever
GO LAKERS
8-)
I've heard it through the grapevine..NBA gods have already designated Los Angeles LAKERS as NBA Champions in near future. The destiny is real. TRUST ME.

It’s still like acknowledging I’m a going for a B+ paper because of B+ tutelage when there’s A+ book notes out there.

Corny as hell. Texting a dead man's phone and posting it on social media for the world to see.

Yeah I can tell a lot of you guys haven't lost someone close to you before. Doing things like texting their old number are just small ways to try and "feel" them again. Mature up, GB.

yup, humans have been buring each other to honor our memories for tens of thousands of years. There is even documented evidence neanderthals did as well. Tatum is honoring the dead. There are few things more human.

My old man passed on 16 months. HE was the only person in my life who left voicemails because his parkinson's prevented him from texting. I still listen to em

If you’re gonna chase clout using Kobes name at least do it right. Gotta beat the Warriors first. Job’s not finished.

Im willing to bet that the majority of the board doesnt knock the gesture. It’s the fact that he had to put it out there for the whole world to see that’s the issue. Some things are best left private.

I don't think he's clout chasing. He's been obsessed with Kobe his whole life and Kobe even mentored him. It's almost like Kobe trying to be like Jordan

Its not corny to do what he did but he didnt have to post it on social media.

Maybe its just his generation though.
