GS shot better from 3 in like 2-3 games the entire playoffs. Celtics shot over their head but GS did too. Nothing changes from my standpoint. If the Celtics take care of the ball they can win any game they play in and that is a direct reflection on if the offense is playing good enough.

His draft picks in Philadelphia haven been underwhelming so far. Maxey was an Elton Brand pick.
So by your logic, Rob Pelinka is a better GM than Daryl Morey because Pelinka won a title after just two years on the job, despite all indications of him being incompetent and just lucky that Lebron and AD fell into his lap, and that he did everything possible to dismantle that championship team in the years after
And get outta here with Morey not surrounding Harden with enough talent. He paired him with prime Dwight and CP3, and they were in contention for many years.
Can't believe we're doing the "ringzzz" argument for GMs too. I personally believe Morey is a bit overrated, but saying someone with only 1 year of experience on the job is better than him already is just ludicrous.

Brad may only have 1 year as GM but the brain trust which is led by Mike Zarren has been in place for 14 years.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

And while the Warriors weren't t dominating the Celtics they easily had the upper hand for most of the game going into the fourth quarter. I mean they had 90 points going into the fourth going against the N 1 defense and were up by 14 (or 16 I don t remember)
Also I m sure they said some positive things about the Celtics but you just choose to highlight the negative ones.
Was the 6/7 3 pt shooting by Porter, Bjelica and Iggy just an average night for them?
The reason why Horford and White didn’t shoot 11/16 from 3 against Miami is the the Heat actually defended them.
That’s 3 role players combining for 6 3-pointers versus 2 role players combining for 11 3-pointers. So what’s your point here
Ah so now we're qualifying things. Funny how they also didn't say that Tatum was 3/17. Again no one cares if Curry blows kisses to the Celtics. "We lost - we need to play better - kudos to the Celtics." Simple. But they didn't chose that direction. They chose essentially to say the Celtics were lucky. That's the point.
Brad Stevens on fans who want the Celtics to tank: "I don’t think they’ll like me all that much then."

I need Gary Payton II back in the game, and now. If for no other reason than I know that he will ignite a flame under everyone on the team who thinks for a second they're taking a play off defensively. It's extremely tough to go on a heater like they did in the 4th when a player like him is on the floor.
Currently OPJ/Iguodala/GPII still listed as "questionable" (imagine Iguodala and OPJ are going again).

If you can shoot 3/17 and still dominate the 3 time champion Warriors on their home court then you are really f’ing good. GS has the second best defense in NBA and they were triple teaming Tatum. That is mad respect.

I was thinking same thing. It's wild to me to hear him breaking down the game and talking about players etc like a commentator. As a Celtics fan I actually enjoy his insight into the game though.

That's my point. Saying Brad is already a better GM than Morey at this stage is discounting the fact that he's had help from a great Celtics organization. He didn't even build this team, Ainge did by drafting all the core pieces. And Zarren is the cap wiz. Brad just put the finishing touches on this championship level core.

That's the problem with the Celtics, they get complacent when they are ahead or at home. We'll see if they learn to overcome that on the biggest stage
It's been that way since the Milwaukee series, yeah.. But, personally, I find it hard to fathom the idea of anyone being in the NBA finals games and not giving it 110% at all times. Like, there's no other series here. There's nothing to save yourself for. There's nothing to get complacent about. This is the MF'ing NBA finals, every game is the most important game of your life.
These Boston bitches (sorry..I'm a lakers fan) gotta start first quarter not as a warm-up, but in desperate -mode, 4th quarter, tied, mode. Tatum has to round up his team and constantly remind them this is life or death at all time outs and clock stops. He's gotta constantly be yelling out to them GEN-X style Glenngary glenross alec baldwinesque in your face ......not no genZ-style, "it cool bruh" head nods and texts while sitting on bench. This guy has to be screaming and directing and showing by example hustle at every minute of the game.
It's gonna be exhausting for him but it's only hopefully 3 or 4 more games. This is what real champions are made of. Being depleted and exhausted, but diving into another mental reservoir and kicking it into another gear.
Don't let gsw have any inkling of any chance completely demoralize them this ONE GAME 2.
Kobe Bryant forever
GO LAKERS

I've heard it through the grapevine..NBA gods have already designated Los Angeles LAKERS as NBA Champions in near future. The destiny is real. TRUST ME.

Unnecessary and condescending. They just have to say "tip your cap to those guys, we have to play better." It happens all the time. No one's looking for any great outpouring and it's only Game 1. Not really classy saying the other team played over their heads to beat you
But Horford and White did have career night shooting. I would bet anything that never ever in their life will White and Horford shoot a combined 11/16 from 3Pg. That is such a rare event why wouldn't t you point it out.

I guess you forgot Horford going 11/14 (5/7 from 3) against the Bucks?
Or Derrick White against your team shooting 6/10 from 3 his last 2 games against the Heat.
If these guys are left wide open, they can hit their shots. It won’t happen every game, but they’re certainly capable of doing it again this series.
So out of 18 previous Celtics playoff games only 2 times have White OR Horford scored at similar production. And it was in two separate games where only one of them got hot from three. I don’t understand why Celtics have to be so sensitive about obvious things.
I m not even saying the Celtics can only beat the Warriors by going crazy hot from three. I think the Celts are very capable of winning a game where they shoot comparatively low from three.

Yes I am qualifying the Celtics win. Both Horford and White going off the way was an anomaly. That is why the Celtics won. Fight me all you want. Tell me I m a butthurt Heat fan. But I m just stating the obvious.
That being said kudos for the Celtics for winning game 1. That was huge and I m sure Tatum will not have that many bad shooting games just as the Celtics will cool down considerably down from three. Things will average out in the end.

Completely off-topic, and I’m sorry, but Tyrese Maxey was picked by Daryl Morey.

That’s a link where Morey talks about how thrilled he is to pick Tyrese the next day after the draft.

Lol dude just cause they lose it doesn’t mean they aren’t giving 100% effort. It just comes down to making shots.
It’s like people saying Miami in game 5 when they got blasted didn’t come with urgency and effort. They still had the same intensity as always but just started off like 1-12 FG and were suddenly down 15

Tatum, Grant Williams, Horford and White a collective 12-22 from 3 was somewhat high.
The same players a collective 6-20 from 2 was somewhat low.
The same players totalling 59 points was ... reasonable?
