I wonder if Salah Meiji is available. By the end of last tenure, Meiji has made shooting 3s part of the arsenal.

Salah requires a cab to drive him back to the basket after the switch

For a worst case scenario not bad Whiteside might be worth adding to that discussion for the vets but I think our future center could be in the draft and I want 3 point skills as well with that 7' size. I also want a bruiser at center someone that can dunk over anyone and rebound against anyone because they can bump them out of the way with a massive amount of muscle and then we can match up with anyone. I do not think that you can find both of those qualities in one player so we need to draft a couple guys at center. One with the shot and another with the bulk and size. You either fineness them with an outside shot or if the shot is off you bring in the punisher to bang them up and slow the game down and get stops as you strangle the life out of them. Either way you can take it to anyone when you have a twin tower situation and it reminds me of the way it used to be when dirk and Tyson tore the league up.

Whiteside had an incident with Bullock after that hard foul (non foul?) On Luka during the Utah series. I doubt they sign him ti shake up the team chemistry. They are even talking about bringing Pinson and Boban back for chemistry purposes so they can sing kumbaya even if those two didnt do anything during the playoffs.

I wonder if Luka has some European connection to players like Maxi. The pool in NBA free agency is rather small. On top of that, most does not find it appealing playing / living in Texas.

Re: Offseason Targets
I'm sick and tired of signing "good guys", "Luka's friends, "chemistry guys" ecc ecc because in PO they are unplayables to find ourselves without a decent C and with Bullock/DFS forced to play 40+ minutes.
This is not the way, look at Warriors or Celtics... They don't have a lot of crap guys like Boban/Brown/Pinson/Powell ecc ecc those guys need to go ASAP.
I prefer to give an opportunity to some G-leaguers... Maybe we can find anothers Poole or Payton.

I wonder if Marvin Bagley can be a reclamation project. He has good size and moves really fast for a 6'10 big. Can switch on defense to smaller wings if he wants to. I mean the motor is there, something you cant teach. If Kidd can teach him how to play defense, then that's your small ball C that won't cost you $30M per year to keep.

4) Resign Brunson, Pinson, & Wright
PG: L. Doncic (35) / S. Dinwiddie (25) / T. Burke
SG: R. Bullock (30) / J. Brunson (30) / S. Brown
SF: G. Hayward (30) / N. Batum (15) / T. Pinson
PF: D. Finney-Smith (30) / M. Kleber (20) / M. Wright
C: C. Wood (25) / B. Marjanovic / K. Jones
This plan largely preserves future draft capital and sheds everyone but Luka, Brunson, and Dodo off the books for the Summer of '24. Maxi could be added to that core on the cheap next summer (perhaps along with Wood), but the main thrust of these maneuvers would be to add reinforcements to this team for the coming two year window without sacrificing our ability to trade first round picks beyond '23 or to utilize our cap flexibility in '24.
#2 trade offer is a joke, that there is no way CHA will accept

Yeah I agree, like reading that we're looking to re-sign Theo Pinson. I'm sure he's a great guy and brings a ton to the locker room but you're spending a roster spot on a mascot effectively... after you've already done that with Boban... 2 out of 15 for Mascots is not ideal imo.

Re: Offseason Targets
I would double down on the things that worked out well.
- More ballhandlers with shooting/offball, penetration ability, smart defense. I would like one more of those. Can Josh develop here or is he only 3D?
Personal target: Malcolm Brogdon. But its tough to get him. I don't think Josh or Frank will become reliable playmakers.
- More 3 and D: Can Frank or Josh make the jump? Can Hardaway improve his defense?
Personal target: I believe in Frank and Josh to make progress and get better shooters. Hardaway is what he is.
- We need for sure a forward/center. Either a Kleber clone or Powell with good defense. Stay clear of players with low energy or BBIQ (Bamba).
Personal target: Either S/T for Robinson (hard capped issue). I really like Noel for the TPE if we can work out the past.
---
Keep the tax MLE if possible for buyout candidates (Wall?)
---
I would like one aggressive talent upgrade at a position of need. Here that would be Brogdon. Next year we have no pick obligations left and this season sets us up for that opportunity.

I have more confidence in Hardaway improving on defense under Kidd than Josh Green becoming a scoring threat.

Its really sad. We have now two years of Josh being long/short on his jumpers or worse a bit left or right. Frank seems further along on that aspect and he is also unafraid to take them.
Tim has now a track record of 9 seasons of defensive concentration lapses that leave me behind with a Jason Terry meme face.
i don't like the odds.

Brogdon maybe is not that difficult to take from Indy. I have a feeling that Brogdon and Haliburton it´s not a good pairing. If I were Indy I would sell him to give Hali the ball. Too redundant. Brunson and Haliburton is a much better fit. Besides Brogdon is injury prone. And Indy is under construction. I don´t see where Brogdon fits there. Indy would do better with cap space and I don´t think Brogdon has a lot of takers. With expirings and something more maybe could be done.
Maybe Turner + Brogdon could be taken in a deal, Brogdon + Turner x Brunson + Powell + this year FRP + green
Would you do it if this type of deal were on the table?
I think Brogdon is about in the same tier as Brunson but one is an ironman and the other is injury prone. Mavs ideally should rest Brogdon a lot of games and still pray for him.

Re: Offseason Targets
According to a report in The Athletic by John Hollinger, it is "more likely than not" that Deandre Ayton has played his last game for the Phoenix Suns.
"I was skeptical until I started talking to a few more people recently," Hollinger said. "Now, I think it’s more likely than not that he’s in a new destination next season, especially if the Suns can work out a sign-and-trade that brings back some value." Ayton will be an unrestricted free agent this off-season, and he reportedly would like a max deal, something that Phoenix is seemingly hesitant to give him. "For whatever reason, I don’t think Phoenix is totally comfortable going forward with him on a big-money deal, and I think Ayton might be okay with going somewhere else if he can have a bigger offensive role," Hollinger said. We will have more updates when the season officially comes to an end after the NBA Finals.

Neither of them has the touch, at most they'll become a Bullock like shooters, who can hit 40% at times, but you wonder how the hell he does that.
THJ has his share of bad defensive possessions, but with Kidd he may improve, he also was always a good charge taker.

Will Clyburn (former Euroleague MVP) leave the CSKA. He is a beast... NBA teams sign crap every year over him. Incredible.
Clyburn is 10times better than Sterling Brown.

Getting rid of Bertans and or THJ should be the offseason plan. That's 37mil in combined salary. That's a max player slot

And who is this mystery max guy? Need to be a real star if u pay what it takes to dump those 2. Mh opinion is that if we pay that price, we simply doesnt have assets to pay for a star, which makes it pointless.

Everything you said is right, and I don't know who that star is. THJ + Bertans is still a misuse of cap/money on this Mavs roster and it's holes.
