Re: OG Hornet: The Miles Bridges Thread
So...I ingested a lot of stupid **** when I was 24. Not going to knock a young millionaire for doing the same. But, the posting of it to social media while you're up for a max contract just makes him look stoopid - lost some respect for the guy, especially as he appears to be lying/covering his ass after being stoopid, rather than manning up. I had no idea what 'lean' is but 'double-cupping' seems to be part of the game.
As an aside - none of us are naive enough to think that players haven't been smoking, drinking and snorting their way through the last 50 years, but between LaMelo's social nonsense and this it's starting to reinforce my belief that we're a showy team without a lot of substance.

Re: OG Hornet: The Miles Bridges Thread
Before this happened I was thinking how the front office might actually trade him for Ayton because it makes more roster sense... you'd commit to PJ at the 4 (who'd be a perfect compliment to Ayton), Still have Hayward at the 3, then use the 13 and 15 picks on wings who can eventually be Hayward's replacement and hope one of them pans out (Griffin, Sochan, Agbaji, Eason, Jalen Williams, Mathurian, Beauchamp, or trade both picks for Daniels or Murray)
The frontcourt would be set with PJ/Ayton and Kai and Thor waiting in the wings, we'd still have plenty of scoring with Ball, Rozier, Bouknight and Hayward, and we'd have two rookie wings that can replace what Miles does in transition and give us different looks
I was going to post this morning about the merits of pulling the trigger on this trade and now it would look like I want to trade him for drug use lol.
I don't care about his drug use, but incredibly stupid to post on social media, just makes him seem immature, and I think it definitely will hurt his value, which I think is bad for us

Miles definitely lost some money last night. No way any other team is going to throw a big contract at him. Mitch and MJ have all the leverage now.

Have been pondering this strategy as well - does (did) make sense.

The double cuppin definitely suggest lean, which if I'm not mistaken is basically liquid heroin right? Could care less about the joint. Concerned if that is indeed lean though.

A lot of people double cup iced drinks to keep them colder longer and reduce condensation. I know someone who double cups every iced drink he has.

I see. Well maybe it really was pink lemonade. Just wish he wouldn't post it to social media. I see some people bashing him smoking a joint and that's literally the last thing I'm worried about.

I'm just trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. But yeah really stupid to post that to social media, it's going to cost him for sure.

Would love to give him the benefit of the doubt, but c'mon. Multi-millionaire Miles is drinking a late-night pink lemonade from a double-Styrofoam cup (as one does) and thinks the pink lemonade is meaningful enough to post to social? Not buying it. Far more likely he was brain-loco and, being so, thought posting a lean pic would be a keen way to buy him some sort of silly cred. The not-so-crazy part is I’d be OK with it, if he said ‘yeah, super stupid moment on my part” rather than gaslighting everyone with the – ‘yeah, just wanted to show the world how I roll when smoking weed – with a tasty double-cup of pink lemonade.’

You're probably right, not sure what's up with him but it's not good. Dude is self-sabotaging less than a month before what will likely be the biggest payday of his life.

Yeah Miles is a good young player but isn't worth the risk of paying a potential drug abuser this much money.
Your Charlotte Hornets! We’ll eventually get something right;right?

I'll just be over here trying not to feel old because I have no idea wtf "double cupping" and "lean" are.

I had to Google it myself. Apparently lean is liquid heroin and people double cup it because it leaks out if it's just in one cup.
Don't take my word on it though because I don't know **** about that kind of stuff.

He's chasing that rap game clout. Bad look for a pro athlete. Something to legitimately be concerned about, highly addictive.
I am all for a guy getting to party in the offseason, but maybe don't post that you are doing opiates during the biggest opiate crisis in US history, ESPECIALLY when you are 2.5 weeks away from getting your first contract extension.

Ditto, but Google makes me an insta-expert on everything. After 5 minutes of searching, I'm now the SME on all lean-related initiatives in my immediate circle of family and friends. I also know how to do my own dental work - thanks YouTube.

Someone needs to tell him he sucks at rapping. We need an intervention.
We used to drink cough medicine and we called it 'strobing'. We drank it straight. NyQuil was the most potent.

Ha. Yeah, why I wasn't in too big a rush to criticize Miles for the ingesting as much as for the displaying and sharing of the ingesting. A night immediately came to mind when I was around Miles-age where me and some buddies whipped up a round of NyQuil on the rocks. Of course, my upcoming payday at 24 was 40 hours @ minimum wage with zero chance of max contract.

Re: OG Hornet: The Miles Bridges Thread
Just to be clear, this is not just basic cough syrup we're talking about. Codeine is prescription cough syrup which is an opioid. On the grand scale of opioids from strongest to weakest it's close towards the bottom... a bit stronger than Tramadol, maybe not as strong as hydrocodone. That being said, it's still a controlled substance and it's still an opioid.
We don't know if this is just a one-time thing, or the tip of the iceberg. I'm certainly not going to speculate on how often, how much etc...
And I guess there is a slim possibility that it really was just innocent pink lemonade, although I highly doubt it given his upside down
response... and the context of the picture.
The big picture here, it's once again it shows the immaturity of this roster. It's not just one player, it's the entire core of the younger players on this team, whether is lamelo and the speeding through stop lights and social media is smoking blunts, or PJ Washington and his situation with the Instagram model, James bouknight at the Connecticut Game, Malik monk a couple of years ago, now miles Bridges and this.
Anyway, I hope this is a big nothing and this was just a one-time lapse of judgment.
I do seriously doubt this will have any impact on the contract he gets though. People have a very short memory when it comes to stuff like this.

It's tough growing up in the age of instant social media. I know all of us a little bit older Generations would be mortified if half of the dumb s*** we did at that age was posted on social media.

You needed ice? Lame. I was a limo driver in Charlotte and one of my passengers made me stop at a CVS. She came out with a six pack. She was married, hot and highly addicted to NyQuil.
Googled the active ingredient
dextromethorphan - narcotic related to opium
Found an article describing cough medicine culture in LaMelo's neck of the woods.
