Yeah, as a Celtic fan I'm finding it weird reading all these posts saying Tatum killed it tonight. I thought he was complete trash. His ego kept slamming the brakes on the Celtics offense all night, as he tried to iso Wiggins play after play. For a guy that's usually one of the tallest on the floor, it's getting kind of discouraging seeing him just camp out on the perimeter game after game.
It's also become quite clear at this point in the series that the Warriors have NO ANSWER for Brown, yet he barely touched the ball the first half of the 3rd quarter. The dude is just strait killing them, and i'm glad the whole world get's to see what he actually can do.
I think both Brown and Tatum are great player, but it's starting to become quote clear that this is a leader by committee team. Smart/Brown/Tatum/Horford
Interesting question. Is Brown the more impressive SG or Tatum the more impressive Small Forward?
Tatum is the unquestioned best player. If you don't understand the difference in defensive attention that Tatum and Brown receive then I don't know what to tell you.
To imply that Tatum is "empty stats", or to agree with it as you do is patently dumb. Tatum was taking mostly good shots, distributing the ball extremely well, and playing great defense. Did Brown have a better game? Probably. Did Tatum get double teamed for most of the game? Yes.
You are a Celtic fan, but honestly it seems as if this is your first time watching the Celtics all year.
I don’t know what the hell the other guy is talking about but Tatum aside from the first quarter was the best player for the Celtics the rest of the game he also has by far the most attention on the team. There was a stat espn showed that after Steph curry hit a three late in the 3rd to take their first lead of the game, Tatum responded by scoring or assisting the Celtics next 24 of 28 points which the Celtics were back over double digits on the warriors so idk how the heck anyone can say he played like “trash”
Because he literally just iso'd Wiggins all 3rd quarter until the Warriors had the lead, and Ime had to start running the offense through Brown and Smart again?
I know Tatum wasn't trash last night, I know that, but with that being said I see a lot of people having the same takes for him that they did for Kobe. Yall ignore the 5 blown offensive possessions because of iso and live ball turnovers that led to the opposing team getting back into the game, but then laud the guy when he hits those shots to give his team the lead back. I'm sorry, but someone has to call it out, Tatum's ball stopping can really hurt the Celtics sometimes.
Like I said in my OP, the Warriors have had NO ANSWER for JB (Or Smart for that matter...) practically scoring at will or forcing them to throw Draymond on him. While Tatum is certainly getting most of the attention, I think it's a little disingenuous to Brown, who has played spectacular in both wins.
It's crazy how close these two guys are in skill level, but you have fans trying to make it seem like JT is head and shoulders above JB

and I just don't get it...
