Liverpool have a privilege just like the rest of the big 6 clubs (not just financially either). Not every team in the prem will be able to spend crazy money or wages on players. I get that the TV deals are crazy, but its still not enough for every team to do what the big 6 teams do.

Big 6 teams have the luxury of splashing a crazy amount on a player and not really caring so much if they flop, where as the rest of the league have to be mindful about making such purchases.

Liverpool in particular have been operating quite as a whole recently, mainly due to Coutinho leaving like its been mentioned. I'm sure (I haven't looked at it) the wage bill is crazy high in Anfield though.

Most of the dislike towards the big 6 is also partially media driven, due to them pretty much ignoring the rest of the league and only caring about what the big 6 are doing.

It's true not every PL club can (Burnley, Norwich), but even those outside the "big 6" are capable of throwing cash around. West Ham, for instance, placed a 45 million bid for Núñez, but Benefica rejected it.

Of course Liverpool's wage bill is high. Players become sought after once trophies are hoisted. You have one of two options -- extend them on higher wages or sell them. But even Liverpool has a ceiling, which is why the club is refusing to breaks its wage structure for Salah.

West Ham getting Keane would be funny. I was looking forward to the skilfull duo of Tarkowski and Keane leading Everton to relegation.

I'm sure every prem team is interested in Kalvin Philips. I know you are villa but I'm not sure why he'd go to Villa rather than stay at Leeds. Surely if he moves it'll be to a club with European football.

I definitely agree with you, I don’t think it’s a realistic signing for us, maybe a year ago but defo not now. He’ll go Man City or stay at Leeds, I don’t mind him as a player but I do think he’s slightly overrated. Also his body might be finished due to Bielsa’s high tempo style.

My preferred choice for a midfielder would be Sangare from psv

So Pool win the race for Nunez. Going to be interesting to see how he and Håland perform comparatively in their first season.

Like LDNMagic and Brecht said, it looks like Palhinha to Wolves is on. Assuming the reported 15-20m fee is correct for him, that's good business.

Neves sweepstakes could be officially on, very soon. You have to think Chelsea, United and Liverpool are the main suitors. Assuming United are able to sign De Jong, a potential midfield three of Neves, De Jong and Fernandes would be very interesting, and would address their biggest issue - inability to control football matches.

It feels like I say that every summer though. United make some signings that appear good on paper, but they **** the bed as soon as the season starts.

Very good business as hard as that is to say as a Villa fan lol.

Do you think Spurs would be interested in Neves? him and Bentancur as a double pivot would be interesting

I don't know about most of you and I'll be happy to be wrong about this, but I just have big doubts about Nunez.

I think he'll struggle a bit in the prem, but who knows.

With Real Madrid signing Tchouameni, the only midfielder, other than Bellingham, Liverpool has been linked with is Sangaré.

No, much like Mane and Salah under Klopp, I can see him taking his game to another level. The only hesitation I have is related to his previous knee injuries.

I do wonder if Liverpool, under this rebuild, changes formation (from 4-3-3 to 4-2-3-1).

I wish. One of my favourite players and would immediately solve Spurs' set piece woes. Absolute class footballer, I feel like he might even be underrated by some.

It looks like the current priority for Spurs, now that we have a LWB and backup GK, is a left-sided CB. Bastoni doesn't seem to be a goer, but we're interested in Pau Torres as well. The problem with that is Man United can offer him far more in wages, however he might be tempted by the allure of Champions League football after a fantastic campaign with Villarreal. Spurs also have Gio Lo Celso on the books, who played really well at Villarreal on loan, who could be used as a makeweight and help expedite negotiations with the club.

Spurs fan friend telling me about Pau if Bastoni is off and Djed Spence as top targets for Totterham.

I'd have thought that every top club in Europe would be interested in Richarlison. He's a top player. Hope Everton sell him as that will make them much weaker, they'd have gone down without him this season.

I've never been a huge fan, but I kind of want him now just because of how much he embraced the Richard Arlison Champions League final bus meme, and how much of a wind-up merchant he is. Liverpool fans will hate Spurs just that bit more.

Read on Twitter

He's versatile and can provide cover for our whole front three. In order for Spurs to be competitive on multiple fronts we need high quality depth at all positions, and with Bergwijn and possibly Lucas leaving, I wouldn't be against it. Could be Conte's new Diego Costa.
