There's not much stupider than being a fan of this team. SAS and the Kardashians still edge it out though.

This is like two different drug addicts arguing who is worse.

I've hung around enough hard core users in my life to have seen this. Well, usually it's them looking down on someone who got "too deep" into X substance. I'd always say to myself "Damn, you look in the mirror lately?"

It's a pretty useful shorthand for understanding how society in general works though. Or a part of it. Always good to have that other to look down on!

What's the problem with someone ignoring RJ's TS% and talking themselves into believing he can be Jimmy?

Or Melo delusionally thinking Randle working on his 8pack this summer will help him not be a selfish emotionally unstable chucker?

Nothing.

Yet everything.

There's nothing inherently wrong about having optimistic, disproportionate or delusional expectations about a player. In fact, it's pretty romantic.

But there's something unhealthy about Knicks fandom when fans hunt scapegoats because someone has to be held accountable and pay for the team's lack of results while their favorites (coincidentally always a young player who incarnates some form of hope) are shielded from any form of accountability. It happened with Al Harrington, Timmy Hardaway Jr (some went as far as emasculating him by calling him Tammy because he supposedly took possessions away from the great unicorn KP who couldn't isolate or pass the ball to save his life), Dennis Smith (booing him mercilessly and chanting for Frank while he was grieving), Elfrid Payton (Kris Pursiainen and others raging against him on Twitter - I was guilty of it to a much lesser degree as well and I regret it), Julius Randle, Tom Thibodeau, Alec Burks etc.

It's all incredibly convenient.

That whole long azz paragraph was about defending Burks and you didn't even mention him. I'm impressed.

And let's be real most of our sht talking is harmless and for entertainment purposes. Now going to games and booing a player who is in the middle of grieving a loss is gross. But talking sht about Elf on realgm for being terrible is FUN.

You sound like a fed trying to take the little bit of joy we have here. What's next you'll want us to be nice to Melo. Where does this end?

I do differentiate Realgm (more of a closed circuit - in fact we're all mad for even convening here) from fan behavior in MSG or on Twitter, a "public" platform that players and their families have access to.

I'm not referring to Realgm (outside of the Tammy thing which I thought crossed the line for one of our own players - not to mention one of the few competent players on our team at the time though he did prevent KP from averaging 40 FGAs a game, which was absolutely key to his development).

Mostly fan behavior at MSG and on Twitter.

I'm just tired of people ragefully blaming competent people because their favorite players - who they arbitrarily placed all their hopes on - are failing to reach their expectations. I have seen that movie too many times.

It's even funnier when their (serious) takes on the whole are trash even compared to SAS's.

Damn. We got SAS's #1 fan in here.

When people say that:

- Frank is a winner and a point guard
- KP is a franchise player and a superstar talent
- The Knicks offseason signings are great moveable contracts
- The Knicks are gonna win 50 games in 2021-22
- Randle is a MVP candidate
- RJ is a future star and a team player though he was the second most inefficient volume scorer in the NBA and he openly chased individual stats

Yes, I take SAS's opinion more seriously.

Just because Knick fans on a forum can have dumb takes doesn't acquit SAS of being a BS peddling sensationalist moron. Like 75% of ESPN's sports "personalities".

Even with all the dumb takes on here this forum still comes out ahead.

We know SAS's raw sh*tposts numbers are good, but is he efficient?

Can someone check on his True Sh*tposting stats?

I would say the story should be that the Warriors are in fact missing someone that can take the heat off Curry and can dominate outside of the system as well.

Looks like they got killed on the glass and gave up a ton of second chance opportunities. They didn’t bring the hustle. Their offense is the best in the league so that ain’t the issue but if they aren’t rebounding after defensive stops they aren’t going to get the scoring opportunities and will just give the other team more chances to score.

I would argue that things change depending on your matchup. Against this Celtics team, they won’t have the best offense in the league. They have effectively stopped Curry in the 4th quarter, and the rest of the offense is inconsistent or they are liabilities on the defensive end. They need a two way player that can fit in the system while also being able to get the team a bucket in isolation.

I could care less about his "Knick fandom". I think his whole rating and click driven routine is dumb and a waste of time. Some people find it entertaining. That's nice. There are millions of people who think the Kardashians are really interesting too. Yeah, I'll pass on all the different forms of inanity in the US of A.

I’m just saying what drives his views aren’t people that agree with his takes. If fans just ignored him and didn’t give him attention for his antics he’d be forced to adjust his content. He is simply doing what made him millions and the funny thing is that when he had Skip Bayless he didn’t have to troll as much so that’s how you know it’s all fake.

Super Cool Beas looking pretty fit for a 33 year old. That also may be the most active defense he's played in a long time. :D
