I think the skillgap between Nash and Billups is too big to justify going with the better defensive fit.

It's not that big. Both are great shooters, both great floor generals. They averaged similar number of points.

Billups wasn't as efficient of a shooter as Nash but you're seriously putting Billups on the same level as Nash as a playmaker?

That's because he played in a much more defensive oriented, slower paced team. Billups could run the team just as well as Nash. He made Detroit a championship tream, and he made Denver a contender.
