I showed my kids “Big” last night and have a few thoughts. First, they loved it, the 80’s were great at those “coming of age movies” that paint childhood with such vibrant nostalgia and purity. Secondly, Tom Hanks is just a plain guy that can emote enthusiasm without being obnoxious about it. But he is so good at that. Finally, there are such overwhelming moral and ethical aspects of that movie that I can’t fathom how it got made. The 80’s were a bizarre confluence of values, for sure.

Zoltar is creepy as hell.

There should have been a sequel/spin-off that just examines the fall-out for Elizabeth Perkins' character.

The Burbs. Hanks AND Bruce Dern. I still quote that movie on the regular.

LOL, this is what a reasonable person would expect. But as presented in the movie, the experience of an illicit relationship with an extremely underage minor rehabilitated her from a woman on the fast track to career burnout in to balanced person with a restored outlook on life.

It really annoyed me that in Hustle Kenny Smith didn't play himself.

Just watched The Gentleman. Not sure why I consistently tell myself that “maybe I’ll enjoy this Guy Ritchie movie.” I mean, it’s entertaining, but really **** annoying. Like all of his movies.

I think we hit peak Matthew McConaughey after Mud/True Detective. And I still love him. Change my mind. Guyflippingchair.gif

Yea, he hasn't had much. Interstellar came out after True Detective, and I really liked The Gentleman. But not a whole lot besides that.

Interceptor on Netflix is a legitimately terrible movie. One of the worst I’ve ever seen.

Uneven season of Barry but an ok ending. Season finale felt like a series finale. But it will be back for season 4. First two seasons left me wanting more. Now...meh.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Would have been fine if Edwards played himself but didn't bother me.

Liked him starring in Hard Eight. Good supporting cast John C. Reilly, Gwyneth Paltrow, Samuel L. Jackson.

Season finale of Barry was a bit anti-climactic, but I thought it was a good season overall.

Spoiler:
Didn't really see the point of bringing his old army-buddy-now-FBI-agent back only to have him ultimately just kinda.....let him off the hook? Felt like a throwaway scene unless they're having him play a major role next season. Ending with him getting arrested was an interesting choice considering I thought that would be how the whole series ends.

Unless we're getting a whole season of Barry in prison, I'm curious to see how they're gonna further the story and/or somehow finagle his way out of the charges. Sally, Gene, and Hank's story arcs all seemed to tie up nicely so I'm wondering if an extra season is even worth it?
