Still Draymond. He has been a bit timid in the Finals though, which is affecting his playmaking ability.
Now that's the difference between first and last place.

Isn't Draymond Green the ultimate utility player? Without the 3, obviously.

Id still go draymond.

Horford in drop coverage isnt doing him any favors. And as bad as Dray has been offensively, hes still an impact defender as the quarterback of the defense. He may not make the plays he used, but hes still fantastic at calling the reads and directing the defense.

Yeah, without the three though

Dray becomes a lot less effective on offense if they aren’t trapping or blitzing Curry because he doesn’t get those 4v3s

Otoh, like drop coverage on Curry has been, umm, interesting lol

Drop coverage has eliminated Draymond because he can't shoot and he can't pick and roll either. It's risky against Curry, but with these types of teams you always have to pick your poison. The worst thing you can do is trap Curry and let Draymond make plays 4 on 3. Then they kill you with their movement and shooting. Like you said, that's the only value he has offensively.

I do understand how it’s killing dray offensively

But it’s mad funny watching Curry vs drop coverage lol

Horford isn’t dropping low. He’s dropping HIGH at 30+ feet. There’s no one else that can do this. Curry just makes silly shots.

Yes, anything below 3 point line is considered drop coverage now.

They aren’t only going drop and the screen defender is going over to still put pressure on his threes but horford isn’t dropping 30 feet that doesn’t make sense lol

He’s not dropping the same way you do to an absolute not shooting threat in the sense that he’s not going to the paint or anything, but he’s still in an area where it’s a hard contest and Curry gets a mildy contested three

This isn’t discrediting currys performance at all, since some of those threes he’s hit have been psychopathic off the dribble and white has been great at getting through these screens and contesting him and Curry just nopes him

I think Draymond still has enough of a defensive advantage where I'm taking him - and he can push the pace in transition in a way Horford can't.

But I love Horford and his combo of shooting/playmaking/defense makes him a great fit pretty much anywhere (Philly not included lol)
