Re: Jayson Tatum Thread: Part Deuce
Jayson Tatum has a chance to snag an Olympics Gold Medal, be chosen as 1st Team All-NBA, win the inaugural Larry Bird Conference Finals MVP award, and become an NBA champion in a span of one year.

I posted it in the GT yesterday, but this is pretty crazy. Just wait until he has a monster game tonight, this number will be closer to 50%.

The St Louis Softy? Wiggins' Son?
Absolutely pathetic. 14-51 from inside the arc this series. Booker was called soft and he shot 45% and scored 28 ppg.. Tatum shooting 30% at 22 ppg.. the media likes him right now, but they're about to turn on his soft ass.
Coach K called him soft years ago, he wasn't wrong.

Needs to hit the weight room this off season. He consistently looks like a child against men when driving to the basket.

Tatum has all of the tools. He just has to get it together between the ears. I know he is only 24, but he just seems like a big kid to me still.

Nothing to do with strength. He's simply not a good driver. His handle is too lose, he shows the ball way too early and he has no idea how to finish. Unless he's flailing around and whining for calls, he's useless at the rim.

I agree is it like a physicality or is it hero ball at this point I don't even know all I know is it's unacceptable if he wants to be considered a great player to play like this in a championship.
And for those Who use age as a factor remember in the past all the great players usually had 3 or 4 years of college. He came out after one year so his nba experience is Already very extensive The age is not an excuse in my opinion.

Re: Jayson Tatum Thread: Part Deuce
Just frustrating that he always keeps on saying he's one of the best in the world, but does he actually believe it? It's all in his head at this point.

I hope it motivates him that he's been no better than the second best player in each series since the Bucks. He's shown good ability to improve and it should be an exciting several years while he's in his prime.

Re: Jayson Tatum Thread: Part Deuce
Tatum's shooting percentages near rim...
vs. MIL
w/in 5 ft: 64.9%
5-9 feet: 47.1%
vs. MIA
w/in 5 ft: 63.2%
5-9 feet: 33.3%
vs. GSW
w/in 5 ft: 53.3%
5-9 feet: 20.0%
What makes it worse when he misses layups is Dubs are often running the other way off of those. Either Tatum falls, looks for a foul, or is just late running back. Fatigue? Foul-baiting? Injury? Whatever it is, we need him to be better. Not even asking for him to be the best guy on the court (Curry has that on lock esp with the way we defend him). It's just finishing and turnovers with him. Rest of his game has been above average.

Needs to pull his finger out his ass. Our role players for the most part have played their part. Jaylen definitely has. We need at least one Superstar game in the next three.

Eventually he will become a winning player but it might take him joining the Lakers or Heat in order to do it.

there isn't much time left to turn it around for him. he's simply having one of the worst shooting finals of all time

Re: Jayson Tatum Thread: Part Deuce
I think his shooting has been off since he had stinger against Bucks. Before then he was lights out since January. He is healthy enough to keep playing minutes but he has to mentally overcome this the way Curry is with his ankle/feet issues.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Re: Jayson Tatum Thread: Part Deuce
His shooting % is bad but that does not matter one bit currently. Series is tied and there is no past, only future. Cliche? I'll cliche you!
