Jaylen Brown is the best SG in the league

Yes, I have him better than Booker. He's done more for his team in these playoffs than I ever seen Booker do.

He's pulled comfortably ahead of guys like Beal, LaVine, Mitchell and Harden if you ask me.

I'd have him #3 currently behind Booker/Mitchell. Harden could bounce back, but haven't seen it yet. Obviously Luka if you count him. Edwards closing quickly if you have him as a SG. Bane worth a mention if Beal/LaVine are.

Does Paul George count as the Clippers SG?

Brown is more of a small forward than shooting guard regardless it’s all interchangeable these days.

But he’s basically the same player he was in 2020-2021 season. He was pretty good last
Season as well but season cut short.

All these shooting guards/small
Forwards have hot spells. So when they got it going. It’s on.

First third of the season brown was barely playing defense. Just watch the Celtics boards on their game thread. It’s amazing when team chemistry kicks in image of a player changes.

He’s stil average free throw shooter. Average (and streaky 3 point shooter)

Mitchell doesn't impress me anymore. Several Sgs I'd take over him.

I'd give Bane an 88 / 100 for sure. Edwards true! He's also prolly an 89 ATM

You can make that argument. He used to be a small forward more than a shooting guard, but now he plays mostly at the 2 and he is showing improved ball handling and passing to some extent.

Kawhi, Covington and Morris play on the wings, Paul George is a shooting guard.

I've got Mitchell ahead of Booker, Brown, LaVine and Beal for sure. Healthy Paul George would top all of them though and Harden is still in the conversation even during a massive down year, if he bounces back a little bit next year he could very easily be first again. Butler is another guy who kind of switches between the 2 and the 3 so if he counts he's by far the best this season but I'd probably have him as a SF right now.

In any case SG has been by far the weakest position for a while now.

If Klay gets back to preinjury level, defense and, he could be the best.

If jordon comes back from retirement and gets back to his prime level he could be the best

I would take him over Booker and Mitchell w/o thinking, but he is more SF for me.

according to bball reference for 20-21

Kawhi was the SG 59% of the time and 38% as a SF

Paul George played as a SG only 4% and SF 90%

Jaylen's my favourite player.

Appreciate with finals and playoff run people are getting a good look at him, where they otherwise might not. So yep great he gets the deserved praise.

However, I think he would struggle to break top 3 right now. I mean what's the argument for him? This feels like anothe prisoner of the moment reaction.

I didn’t think real hard, but definitely going with no right off. The fact that this is even a debate though shows how weak that position is right now in the league. Once Kobe/Wade’s run ended, the torch was passed to Harden which he held for a long time.

even harden began to blur the lines IMO and felt more like a PG some seasons

daily reminder that the difference between small forward and shooting guard is wildly arbitrary

most just say the shorter wing is a shooting guard and call it a day
