Re: 2021-22 NBA Season Discussion
right now the gsme is being played at a warriors pace, all the boston bricks is giving them full court chsnces and confusing boston defense, they are making really good passing too
if warriors shot wete fslling they would be pulling away

Re: 2021-22 NBA Season Discussion
I picked Boston to win the Finals, but I'm starting to consider that maybe their lack of real PG play is going to be the death of them. They just look so inept on offense sometimes with nobody being able to collapse the defense or initiate a play.

looney foul trouble could be huge down the stretch if boston stays in the game

their offense has done fine for the series their strategy of daring curry to beat them backfiring has been a bigger issue
tonight they are defending well, particulsrly considering how many full court play they have had to defend off misses and is their offense being awful
but not flr the resr of the series, they need to calm and execute better in offense tho

I don't know. They're shooting 42.4% from 3 in the series and still only managing a 110.9 ORTG, 3.5 points below their season average and 1.1 points below league average. I get the Warriors were the #2 defense, but to me, Boston has actually had pretty good shooting luck so far, hitting a lot of fairly tough threes. Their defense hasn't been perfect, but I've been mostly impressed with it so far. Steph made a ton of very touch shots last game. Offense is still the bigger issue imo. When they're not hitting threes at a high rate, they can't seem to do anything on that end. Constant turnovers and settling for a lot of jumpers.

agreed. and this really showed in the 4th q of g4 imo. shots werent falling and their offense looked inept. completely unable to generate anything within the arc
celtics half court offense generation was always the question mark to me this series and it hasnt impressed

i think they really are lacking a guy who can isolate/run a pick and roll and conskstently score and create
the warriors defense rotations and passing lines pressure is at 100% intensity, someone who could slow down the gane and isolate or post up effectively would reallt help right now
i dont mean a lebron, or even a butler, but someone with a more resilient offensive game than tatum
brown has been that guy at times but his handle is too exploitable

Really bad end of the quarter reffing there. Potential 3 point swing.

Re: 2021-22 NBA Season Discussion
if i was boston i would try to pound inside as much as possible, take advantage of looney foul trouble and get green in problems too if possible
but again i am not a coach so maybe that is not the best idea

bad news for boston, they still suck in offense
good news for boston they are getting warriors fromt court in serioud foul trouble (silver linings?)

im not even sure how much the celtics defensive gameplan backfired thru g4 tbh. it's kinda hard to judge but it almost felt like an inverse of the nets series. sure steph popped off but no one else did. i can see both perspectives

the undertalked part of the nets series is that nets actually scored really well on boston
objectively it could be said that the all in durant strategy didnt worj as far as stopping nets offense
celtics won that series exclusively of destroying nets defense
it has not been a disaster, but both warriors and nets have had strong offenses against boston, relatively speaking
so if not failed per se, it has also not worked as well as they wished

I feel like Curry's +/- will look good this half.

The nets offense wasn’t that good with durant on the court right?

Re: 2021-22 NBA Season Discussion
i dont see how warriors lose with this kind of defense (boston bricking helps tho), theu are firing om all cilinders
wonder if they will be exhausted by the end of the game with this much defensive effort?
boston needs to play the long game and keep getting inside and wearing out draymonf and looney with fouls and tire, god knows their outside shots are not falling
and it would have the added benefit of slowing warriors pace in offense

What's bad isn't that Draymond keeps missing wide-open 3s with no one even bothering to guard him. It's how bad he's missing. These shots look like they have no chance of going in...

Re: 2021-22 NBA Season Discussion
This is a defensive battle I love it
Draymond with his fingerprints all over the game
Celtics defense has kept Warriors in check, they should be up more based on how good the D has been
Also Celtics offense is so much harder to guard when they stay patient and stick to the drive and kick. When they revert to isolation they become a lot less scary, even if Tatum can hit tough shots.
Oh and Rob Williams has officially become one of my favorite players. Just needs to get a less corny nickname
