Nice rim protector and finisher on the PNR, but more of a drop coverage bigman and not great at switching on the perimeter. Astounding reach but not very bouncy IMO. Watching Durens workout, he has much higher upside on both ends.

This has been MY GUY all along. I really want him as our second huge get in this year's draft, as I'm also dreaming of letting Houston solve our problems at the PF at the very same time, at the cost of Dame.

(jingle playing) - Like Clyde(not Mike)... want to be like Clyde.

What does Dame do for Houston? That team would still stink, not to mention they clearly are rebuilding.

Also, trading Dame to a bottom feeder like Houston would be rightfully seen as a super sleezy move.

If we trade #7 I hope we go high upside in round 2. Guys like Barlow, Minott, Miller, ect.
Barlow at #36 and Minott at 57 would be enough long term potential to off set some that we lose by moving off #7.

Interesting to see the ESPN mock draft which now has Mathurin going sixth to the Pacers and Daniels going
to the Blazers. Mathurin seems to be acing the interview/workouts

! Orlando Smith
2) OKC Holmgren
3) Hou Banchero
4 Sac Ivey
5) Det Murray
6) Ind Mathurin
7) Port Daniels
8) NO Sharpe
9) SA Duren
10) Was Davis
11) NY Griffin
12) OKC Dieng
13) Char Sochan
14 Cleve Agbaji

ESPN has Portland taking Wendell Moore (Duke) in the second round. It wouldn't be a bad thing to trade down to
add an additional pick if Portland is not enamored with Daniels.

Sochan would likely be the pick if Portland trades down with either OKC/Charlotte. Nice player
but hardly going to develop into a star player.

Interesting to see Sharpe agreeing to a workout. For a while, he hasn't worked out for many teams, much
like Banchero, Ivey and Murray. Sharpe seems to be an unknown and perhaps we might see the trade down
with OKC to 12 with Portland picking up some of OKC's future picks which they can't possibly all use.

Yeah, I’m surprised Sharpe agreed to a group workout. That really stood out to me.

lots of these guys seem to have a promise for Banchero hasnt worked for anyone for guys like Ivey seem hostile to the point they arent sharing medical info with the kings.

I wonder if the tide has turned for Mathurin/Daniels seem to be up and Sharpe seem to be dipping given teams have to go back to AAU tapes to see Sharpe in action. Sharpe really should have played for Kentucky in the tournament

I really hope we use our #36 pick on a savvy defensive player - preferably one who has played a few years of college and is only dropping in the Draft because of the age paradigm (with teams being most drawn to drafting young players).

The warriors have done that well with Draymond and Festus Ezeli (pre-injury). While they didn't draft Gary Payton Jr, he's another player who fits the mould.

Interesting to see the last workout group consisted of mostly guys who will be undrafted along with
Malaki Branham who likely will be a mid round FRP.

One thinks if Portland does one of the trade down proposals, guys like Eason and Branham could very
well be the pick. Portland worked out Daniels, Mathurin, Duren, Griffin, Sharpe, Sochan but not others
like Williams, Agbaji, Davis and doesn't seem to have worked out the guys slated to be SRP.

I just wonder if Portland will making their pick at 36 which suggests there will be one of those draft
day deals involving Portland. Hopefully they won't do something really stupid.

Agree - I think there's a fair chance we trade down and get one of the guys you listed. Given Mathurin seems to have been a late riser, I'd like Eason the most of we ended up with a #13-15 pick.

I'm so keen for draft day that I've literally taken a day of annual leave off work, to watch it (I'm in Australia so it's on during the daytime). If Joe Cronin trades away our #7 for expiring contracts like Grant and Dort, I'm going to be very very disappointed.

At least get a pick in the teens (at the very least) so that we have a prospect to develop WHEN (not if) the reality sets in that we can't possibly contend with Dame unless we land a bonafide all star (which isn't happening).

I keep thinking Dame's appearance at Griffin's workout suggests he will be the pick.

At 6-6 220 lbs and 7' reach, he's got the attributes to be a 21st century 3/D player. Whether he's the
pick depends if Indiana takes him at six.

Very prominent video of Dame taking the court with Griffin. ESPN today mentioned Dame is also high on
Sharpe.

I think the choice at 7 will come down to Griffin, Mathurin, Sharpe and Daniels with one of those guys
being taken ahead of them by Indiana.

I'd be happy with any of Shaedon, Daniels and Mathurin.

Griffin at #7 seems like a huge reach and there's too many question marks around him for me to be interested.

If we trade down to #12-15 then I'd be open to that.

I was talking to a friend and brought up how Portland had drafted well with guards. He countered by saying that he thought it was Portland's development of guards that was the standout.

I think if any environment is going to develop Shaedon Sharpe into the potential star that he may be, one with Dame would be up there with the best.

For a franchise who depends on the Draft for success (given star free agents simply do not sign here), a swing for the fences move is what we need. I'm not suggesting he's the right positional fit for us (as truth be told the guard position is where we're most solid at), but from a pure best player available perspective, if he's available at #7, I think he's it.

Griffin has had some nagging injuries the past couple of seasons. ESPN and Athletic both have
him going 11 and Tankathon 9 while CBS has going 7. Unlikely he will be there at 12, 13 for
he's probably the best spot shooter in this draft.

Real chance Sharpe will go 7th in this draft but not necessarily to Portland. He'd be a great long
term fit next to Ant and possibly the player with the highest ceiling in this draft. More likely
there will be a draft day deal which only kicks the can down the road on the rebuild.

There's an ESPN article going around that we'll keep #7 and we are eyeing Sharpe. I'd be very happy with that outcome.

Of course it could be media posturing to send a signal to teams to offer up more for the #7 pick in trades. Alternatively it could be media posturing to throw other teams off the scent of other players (e.g. Dyson Daniels).
