I think a perma-ban is a bit much, but he deserves at least some type of punishment. Maybe it'll change with time, but I don't think it happens anytime soon.

That's just embarrassing for arena security that it was that easy.

Watch the full clip. Its real. He was handed it by the vice security operations of chase center.
A guy in a suit with a lanyard and a blurred out face handed it to him. Could be literally anyone. Doesn't change the complete lack of professionalism of the "official ban letter."

Was a big fan of Big Daws well before all of this. His videos are pretty entertaining.
And you guys are discussing the severity of the ban like it's some kind of injustice but you don't realize he doesn't care. The guy is a multimillionaire youtuber. I don't think he's even a Warriors fan or from San Francisco. Does he even attend their games normally?
He now has publicity, which will fuel further video views and increase his income. He achieved his objectives.

They should just agree to some kind of charity give away donation for kids or something or the homeless in the bay area, he gets to use his platform for good and the nba gets to target his demographic. Win win for everyone, and he agrees to in the future give them a heads up with his fake klay pranks and just move on.

It was likely written on the fly....

Yeah, same (not "big fan," per se, but I'd watched a good bit of his content), well before the first "fake Klay" incident. To be honest, it's very weird to me that anyone has never heard of him (and I'm not young - though I do have a lot of free time...). Like, hearing him talked about like he isn't a fairly big celebrity feels very strange. I guess it just goes to show that even celebrity is niche in the internet age.
I'm pretty sure he was based in Arizona for a long time. I'd assume he still is, though I could be wrong. I've never heard of him attending Warriors games other than the two times it's popped up on realgm for him impersonating Klay.
Anyway, you nailed it. Mission accomplished for Big Daws, as usual.
All human life on the earth is like grass, and all human glory is like a flower in a field. The grass dries up and its flower falls off, but the Lord’s word endures forever.

Re: Fake Klay banned from Chase Center for life
TLDR'd the thread but GSW pretty much had no choice but to throw the book at him; and they actually stopped short of doing so.
This fake Klay guy seems harmless but by releasing his video he just advertised dressing up and sneaking into the arena as a fun prank all over the internet.
A lifetime ban is probably the lightest punishment that GSW can hand out that would possibly discourage video viewers from making similar attempts. They really should have prosecuted the guy to set an example that this kind of thing really isn't okay.

He's a HUGE HUGE sports fan in general. Watch his man cave videos and look at all the sports memorabilia and especially big name autographs. So not sure if he's a warriors fan per say but he's an nba fan and certainly likes the warriors.

exactly what i was thinking. but i think GSW doesnt wanna push it that far in hopes that he will just go away and keep quiet, but this thing has been all over twitter lately, and multiple news orgs want an interview with daws... so far he has rejected the interviews, but i could him giving in eventually if gsw keeps the ban in place.

I don't see how they'd have any case. He never lied about who he was. It was embarrassing on their security. The first time he was asked who he was, he told them instantly, and walked out without even the slightest hint of an issue.

I think that could be the end game, but more than likely it won't happen for a while. Other future culprits would use that as a way to get a lighter 'sentence' if they do it, so they have to be careful.

So if I just walked into some guy's house unannounced and then left when being asked to that would be okay too?
The reason he was permitted on the premises was under the completely false pretense of actually being Klay Thompson. So BigDaws' true identity was never allowed to be in the stadium.
BigDaws therefore did trespass and can indeed be
prosecuted for it.
If you don't think dressing up as someone else convincingly and acting as that person isn't lying about who your true identity is then I don't know what to tell you.

A cop says "security is on to you", so I highly doubt the letter is fake.

I would bet every dollar I have that Klay has NEVER entered that arena dressed like that. I'm pretty sure it's against the rules to not be dressed more professionally when coming and going. So I'm sorry...nobody working there should have even for a SECOND thought he was dressed like Klay.

Except for the fact that almosr everyone shown in his video that wasn't in on it was fooled...
Do you honestly think that security would have let BigDaws in if he walked up to that security line just dressed as himself (no makeup, facial hair shenanigans etc)?
Come on.
And plenty of players have walked into arenas wearing all sorts of stuff. BigDaws knowingly took advantage of it.
The reality is that the moment he saw that he was going to be let in by security he should have stopped and revealed himself and not proceeded to trespass.
Granted, it would have made his video way less interesting but you'd have to be a complete idiot to not know that you were doing something you aren't supposed to be doing.
Also I think it's absolutely hilarious that you think there's some sort of dress code required for NBA players entering facilities. Have you not watched any pregame shows in like the last decade??

Show me ONE nba player walking in wearing their basketball shorts and I'll agree with you. Just one!
Security should know what freaking Klay looks like...these aren't idiots on the street and if you watched the video, MULTIPLE people knew who it was lol. It's pathetic that security let this happen. PATHETIC! These people have actually seen klay, IN PERSON!!!!!!
