I agree with this statement, but I don't think Porzingis' value has shot up much after just 19 games with the Wizards. But if Porzingis maintains that level of play for the first half-season this year, then we ought to explore trading him....

Sure -- & I'd say the decision between those two mostly depends on what we can get for him. At least it ought to.

Keep in mind how low his value was. In general, I'd say we were in a position where I expected another team to take advantage of us in a trade. Instead, his value was low enough that all we had to give was our problems -- & we got a R2 pick as well!

I'd say that if he sustains, or even improves, we would get a bunch more for him.

Porzingis played well in his short stint with the Zards last season. If he continues to play that well or better (and can stay relatively healthy) you have to seriously consider keeping him as a core piece…unless you get a trade offer you simply can’t refuse.

I think by dirk he means never leaves the team and stays with the team after he retires. Not really the pay cut part he's getting that max deal. That's my grandkids never be broke again money.

To be fair to Brad, he has said he wants to win a championship in DC and wants to be playing in May and June. He wants to do it here.

It's an interesting headline, but there's nothing new in the article. It just says that Beal would be happy to stay in DC but he also wants to play for a winner. That's what he has been saying for 2 years now.

And or it is clear there is nobody in the market who will pay him the way we will, even if they could. He's going to secure the bag first, then later if the team is not miraculously improved around him, despite the handicap of a massive contract for a decent player, then he can start talking about trades etc if we can make it work.

I don't think Tommy is looking at a super max. He has said the offer is on the table as far as the max extension, and that he reassured Brad and his agent after the injury that offer is still good. He has said his intention is to re-sign Brad, so the floor is that max extension, he can match and surpass any offer Brad would get in the market, but I think Brad's agent understands that the better offer is not out there. I expect he will take the offer but work in more player option years so that Brad continues to have leverage over where he is, and if he recovers 100% then maybe there is a bidding war for his services in a future year.

It’s hard to hate a guy for wanting to stay with the team that drafted him for his entire career. It’s not his fault that we have had an incompetent FO for 90% of his career.

Let’s see what Beal and Porzingis can do, and see what Tommy can do this off-season to build a competitive team. He’s made some huge splashes that Ernie never would’ve even thought about doing. I’m still a believer.

It's smart--and ultimately a good thing for the Commanders--for Snyder to stay out of the spotlight. I'm glad to to see Ted doing the same. I prefer to have Tommy and/or Wes Jr. doing to press stuff.

Agree. I can't understand why there's so much negative attitude about Brad. Obviously an extremely good guy....
