I have wanted THJ gone before he signed his extension. It's just not wise money being used but he's a heck of alot note productive than Bertan. Bertan has a ten minute window and receives a few 3-point attempts. If he misses, which is often, he's on the bench. Bertans is a liability but we'll be stuck with both for probably the next three seasons.

If Isaac is available, then I think the Mavs should tender an offer.

Isaac is a bit concerning. I think he has not played basketball in 2 years.

Agreed. I don’t trust his injuries and his contract is too big and too long.

I think you're weirder than Jonathan Isaac. :D If the Mavs could actually get him for a Vet Min... that would be an absolute steal, on and off the court. Good players who also have good character are increasingly hard to find.

Yeah he is hard to find. Because he surely aint on court. Almost like he fell of the edge of the world...

I'd try to sell the Magic THJ, he lives in Florida, he's a good veteran presence, and he can replace Harris/Ross roles, and grab Isaac.
Magic aren't in position to give up on him, they aren't going anywhere right now, they paid the price of him missing 30 months, his contract after next year is non-guaranteed due to the injury, he's a low risk high reward guy, it wouldn't make much sense for them to trade him, unless Nico applies some advanced sales man techniques.

Isaac makes Kristaps Porzingis look like a very sturdy Hakeem Olajuwon. Nico got rid of one injury prone max deal to get another even more injury prone maxed out player. Why?

Maybe GSW moves Wiseman. Are the Mavs interested? The experiment could be similar to Bamba.

Depdnds what they want. Barely played. Wouldnt use any 1st, at best a 24 swap. Think his value is so low gsw cant trade him. Unless they need to save tax

Buddy Hield for Hardaway and Powell. Then, spend the MLE on Hartstein. Re-sign Brunson. Pick up undrafted athletic freaks. Then, this offseason is pretty good.

Wood / Kleber / Rookie
DFS / Hartstein / Bertans

Wood / Kleber / Undrafted rookie?
DFS / Hartenstein / Bertans
Luka / Bullock / Green
Buddy / Dinwiddle / Undrafted rookie?
Brunson / Ntilikina / veteran minimum PG

If the Mavs spend cash on 2nd rounders. Then, things could be great. There're quite some deep bench players available in 2nd round.

THJ's contract still have 3 yrs left compared to Hield's 2 yrs left. IND decline unless DAL can add incentives.

Why ORL wants to add THJ and his 3 yrs contract, while giving up Isaac, especially his contract becomes a necessarily an expiring one? They are rumored wanting to get rid of Ross. No way they will take on THJ unless signficant incentives coming in.

arkuo wrote:I wonder if Marvin Bagley can be a reclamation project. He has good size and moves really fast for a 6'10 big. Can switch on defense to smaller wings if he wants to. I mean the motor is there, something you cant teach. If Kidd can teach him how to play defense, then that's your small ball C that won't cost you $30M per year to keep.

It is definitely interesting one, but don't think DET will let Bagley leave for nothing.

And who is this mystery max guy? Need to be a real star if u pay what it takes to dump those 2. Mh opinion is that if we pay that price, we simply doesnt have assets to pay for a star, which makes it pointless.

Everything you said is right, and I don't know who that star is. THJ + Bertans is still a misuse of cap/money on this Mavs roster and it's holes.

In term of misuse of money, you forget to mention we are also paying 20M for Dinwiddie and11M for Powell as well.
