Definitely give it to Steph without hesitation. The Warriors can't win without Steph but they can and have won without Wiggins.

He had a bad shooting night. It happens. He was still a +15 despite awful shooting and he played good defense.

You weren't bad-mouthing him after his game 4.

Great players don't have bad shooting nights in most important games of the season. I don't think I "bad-mouth" Curry at all. I just analyze the facts and lay them out for all to see. You can make up your own mind.

Your boy Lillard got swept by the warriors shooting 37% all series while curry dropped 37ppg 7apg 8rpg on his head. We get it you don't like Curry stop spamming your BS all over the place.

I've been through this. Curry had HALL OF FAME TEAMMATES. Dame had AMINU and HARKLESS. Give Curry AMINU and HARKLESS and he will lead GS to the lottery. Look at last season. Dame leads Blazers to 6th seed despite injuries to his teammates. Curry, playing without Klay Thompson, can't even make the playoffs. Last season tells us all we need to know about Curry. That and his unprecedented 0/9 three point shooting performance in the NBA Finals.

But, But, But....That was also because of Curry. Seth Curry!!!
CJ McCollum (better than Klay in these games) was nobody though in that series despite 22ppg, same as Dame.
Oh and not 1 player outscored Curry in any game that series too...The Chef variety.

If it was just Dame on that team, only 12 shots in game 1? Didn't want to take over and just handed the first game to his opponent? MJ would NEVER do that. hahahaha j/k

Honestly, though, I just came in here to commend the GS fans for not going ham on the most uneducated basketball fan in history. I want this thing to keep going, it just gets more outlandish with every reply!

Genuinely interesting seeing how people can extrapolate so much out of "no."

I love what Wiggins is doing, and would be thrilled to have Wiggins and his two way skills as the number two scoring option on my Jazz team, but there is virtually no chance Wiggins gets the Finals MVP. If the Warriors win, it will be Curry. Even with Curry shooting bricks in game five, Curry is still having the best jump-shooting Finals ever according to the ESPN article below. And he's doing it against the DPOY and number one rated defense in the NBA. In addition, you have to recognize Curry's non stop motor, his gravity and passing, which opens up good shot opportunities for the rest of the Warriors.

Steph Curry is Having the Best Jump-Shooting Finals Ever

Snip: Even after a dismal game 5, the greatest shooter is having a series for the ages.

I dont think he will win it unless Curry absolutely craps the bed in game 6 and game 7 but i think (Wiggins) should be the finals mvp. Yes his scoring is less than Curry but his overall impact on the game with his stellar defense and rebounding against Boston has been absolutely crucial to win thus series. Curry hasn't been that spectacular in this series to run away with the mvp that mvp narrative is to hard for media voters to ignore tho.

I don't think he has any more of a case than anyone else that is a distant second to their stud player. Like, this is a weird topic that wouldn't happen if it was with any other star with Steph and it was the story. Steph would need an epic collapse in the next 2-3 games, and Wiggins would have to do way more than like 26/10 or whatever, he'd have to have like a few 40 ppg games with Steph going for like 15 or something.

If the warriors win tonight and Andrew wiggins ends up with like 25/15 and steph has a bad shooting night, I can see voters trying their best to be unique and creative and giving it to wiggins, but in my mind, steph curry has been above and beyond every player on the court, so I’d be shocked if he didn’t win it, should the warriors win the title.

Better question is,

Does Lillard have a chance at Finals MVP in his career?

I'm thinking no.

Unless Wiggins scores like 40pts+ tonight Yes

Stephen is gonna get it. The voters are aware Stephen does not have a Finals MVP and Stephen has the media push behind him this time around.

16-8 is a bad game for steph, but its not a bad game. Even with a pedestrian statline, his gravity is basically an unregistered assist for alot of those dubs buckets. He actually played a good game, but just shot poorly.

Secondly, low efficiency should be taken in context. The defense being played in this series has been unbelieveable. Its physical and suffocating.

Wiggins has been the second best player, but its going to take a miracle to overtake steph. No other dub even has an invitation.

He didn't just shoot poorly. He was embarrassingly bad in the biggest of games.

You really need to stop watching box scores if that's your take on his last game. Curry wasn't great, but he was far from bad in that game. There's more to basketball than hitting shots.

He will probably get a few votes.
The good thing about BI is he can shoot over defenders.
The bad thing about BI is he can shoot over defenders.

Assuming the Warriors win? Then he should get it. He's easily been the best player in the finals, but he won't get finals MVP because of narrative.

What he's done to Tatum is incredible.

Biggest game thus far has been game 4 where Curry exploded and saved the GSW from going down 3-1.. He's had a dud in game 5 but he still has the edge by a pretty wide margin. If he would wet the bed in game 6 and Wiggens played like game 5 he has a legitimate chance yeah, although voters will probably still vote Curry no matter the performances because of the backlash of 2015 and the pressure to give it to Curry.

Yes according to the finals voters changing the series is what matters most not who the best player is. Wiggins aggressiveness on the boards and his defense on Tatum is what swung the series and why the Warriors have taken control of this series. /s
Most 4th Quarter Points in Final since 1991
1995 Shaquille O'Neal 11.5
2000 Shaquille O'Neal 11.5 (61.1% TS)
2015 Stephen Curry 10.8 (75.1% TS)
1997 Michael Jordan 10.7 (55.1% TS)
1998 Michael Jordan 10.6 (50.6% TS)
2011 Dirk Nowitzki 10.3 (68.0% TS)

Wiggins has increased his minutes from 35 mpg in the first 3 games, to 43 in the last 2.

That's way better than a certain other player who only went from 35 to 39.

So your logic checks out.

Yes, something like this would have to happen including some late game shot made by Wiggins to add to narrative. Otherwise, it’s Curry’s.
