As of right now no. Unless Curry is awful in the remainder of the games and Wiggins drops 35+ and wills the Dubs to a championship, Curry should be the FMVP.

Why was the Jason Terry for Finals MVP thread locked immediately... but not this one?

Curry pays the price for not being a 2-way player. Its more than a fair, because "defense and rebounding wins championships".

I'd give it to Wiggins, because he's a 2 way player but I doubt media will.

If Steph is not Steph, he drops like 50 tonight and they close out BOS on the road I think he has legit shot.

It feels like this is how Iggy snatched that FMVP from Steph, 2 strong late games.....

I think Wiggins is the true X factor and the difference maker for the team.

If he gets it, itll be a massive knock against Curry and his all-time ranking.

He had a bad shooting night. It happens. He was still a +15 despite awful shooting and he played good defense.

You weren't bad-mouthing him after his game 4.

Great players don't have bad shooting nights in most important games of the season. I don't think I "bad-mouth" Curry at all. I just analyze the facts and lay them out for all to see. You can make up your own mind.

kobe g7 had 6/24 and got FMVP. do you also have an issue with that?

But history tells us that it's not what wins Finals MVP awards.

Since 1982... the leading scorer on the winning team has won Finals MVP 36 of 40 years. And only once were the #1 and #2 guys more than 2 ppg apart.

2015: Curry 26.0 ppg (Iguodala 16.3)
2014: Parker 18.0 (Leonard 17.8)
2004: Hamilton 21.4 (Billups 21.0)
1986: McHale 25.8 (Bird 24.0)

2022: Curry 30.6 ppg (Wiggins 18.4)

So not only does Curry have the greatest discrepancy in ppg already since 1980 (but Kareem missed the deciding game)... people are expecting it to be the anomaly TWICE?

No.

No.

He'd have to have a Game 6 for the ages + win with Curry bombing.

History shows us 2-way-players in Finals MVP = Giannis, LeBron, Kawhi, KD, LeBron again, Iguodala, Kawhi again, LeBron again, LeBron again, Dirk, Kobe....

Just another thread giving people an opportunity to trash Curry. In other words, just another day on the GB.

no and if he wins he should refuse it and hand it to Steph.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

"2-way-players" is entirely subjective... see Dirk in your list and exclusion of Curry.

My statistic is irrefutably, objectively factual.

And still shooting 42% from 3 on the series. A Finals stat line Lillard and friends can only dream of.

I know this is hard on you son. But you'll be OK.

Alright, I'll stop feeding the troll now.

Lillard has the NBA Playoff Record for Three Point Shots Made In A Game (12)
Curry has the NBA Playoff Record for Most Threes Attempted Without A Make In A Game (9)

Don't even begin to compare them. Put Dame on the Warriors instead of Curry and the Warriors win in 2016. Dame gets to WCF with Aminu and Harkless. How did Curry do without Klay last year? Yep. He didn't even make the playoffs. Checkmate.

This is embarrassing man. Don't compare them? What are you even talking about?

There is a huge recency bias in the FMVP voting. Curry clearly had a better series than Durant in Durants second FMVP campaign. But because Durant had the big final game, he got the award. So the real answer to this question is yes, Wiggins could get it. He would just need a huge game 6.

You can’t win if you can’t score.

Steph doesn’t even have to score to be extremely effective. His mere presence on the court makes him dangerous.

Lillard did make 12 3s in a playoff game (58 minute game, 2OT), of course they lost the game. But then, let's compare their Finals records......oh, wait.

Wiggins could put up 60 next 2 games and they'll still give it to Curry, it has already been decided
