6 days to go gentleman!
I'm hearing some buzz about us being connected to :
Dalen Terry - tall smart PG
Kennedy Chandler - tiny quick PG
Keon Ellis - defensive wing with some shake
Moussa Diabate - Poor man's Bam
Justin Lewis - young Tucker
Julian Champagnie - 2 way wing
Blake Wesley - athletic scoring SG
Christian Braun - low ceiling high floor 3 and D wing
Also a bunch of guys that are 100% going to go undrafted so we can pick up a gem or 2 after the draft

Feels like this can be a big night for us.
Some real players that help us will be on the board, and also a high chance we trade the pick after making the selection and getting an established NBA player.

As much as I normally get geeked out for the draft, this year we need to be trading the 27 & our 2023 1st for a legit upgrade.
I won’t get attached to the pick in any way, until they sign a contract.

Nice list, I favor:
Blake Wesley
Justin Lewis
Keon Ellis
Moussa Diabate ( I think he is more agile/athletic than Bam also has better measurements height, wingspan, hand size I believe )
In that order, the other ones I am Iffy about.

A quintessential Heat player. Solid defender, sets good screens, very good passer for his position, energetic, and draws a ton of charges (though he flops a bit).
Will probably end up on the Celtics and will annoy me for the next 10 years.

He is my favorite prospect at our range. Dude legit looks to be better than projected. Could end up being the steal of the draft.
Getting Mentored by Jimmy he could turn out deadly for us, has a slippery athletic game and handle ala Dwade. His first step is amazing and his defensive abilities to steal the ball in the passing lanes is elite.

Yup. Wesley is becoming the favorite for me as well. Also coincides with BPA at 27.

I still remember when the Heat had the fifth pick in the 2003 draft. Wade was projected to go to the Bulls and the Heat were projected to get TJ Ford, Kaman, or even Lampe. No one thought the Heat would draft Wade cuz they had Eddie Jones.
Proud embarrassment

Chicago could have moved up to 4 trading with Toronto had they packaged 7 and D.Marshall to take D.Wade and decided against it.

In that scenario we still would’ve got Bosh, so it’s not all bad. Sliding doors of the NBA though.

Lord knows we could use Wesley's shooting;)

Interested in checking him out. Can he dribble and catch post passes?

Re: 2022 NBA Draft Prospects
Williams looks interesting. Flashed some nice court vision and stats suggest a well rounded player. I guess my question mark would be that we’d just be drafting another backup 5. Spo wouldn’t play him alongside Bam, so we’re talking a 12-15mpg position.
I’d rather we just try make Yurt work at the 5 slot and slide Bam to the 4. Or draft a more natural 3/4 that can play alongside Bam at the 5.

I’d agree with this sentiment. If we are keeping the pick it should be to add someone that play this year, or next, not to add a back-up who will be stuck 3-deep in the rotation.
Either way, I’m still hoping we are sending the pick out. Either as per of a deal, or to acquire a 2025 1st so we can trade 3-4 picks in a deal.

Re: 2022 NBA Draft Prospects
Checking out the expected players in that 20-30 range really makes me wonder exactly how big of a factor pure luck is in drafting.
All these teams (even the crappy ones) have professionals scouts, staffs that spend countless hours with almost unlimited resources to analyze all these players.
And then you get bust at # 23 and a future Allstar at #24.
What % of impact would you attribute to pure luck regarding our pick?
