I am guessing the Nuggets are hoping Jovic will be available at 30.

I'm a big fan of this guy. I guess he is gonna try to improve his stock to try and get drafted higher next year. I had him as a top 35 player in this year's class though and a potential target for the celtics at 53.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything

Definitely a player to keep an eye on. He will be auto-eligible for next year's draft.

It looks like he will sign with my team here in Slovenia, so I will get to see him a lot. He will play Eurocup and Adriatic league, great competition for young guys...Hal14 wrote:I'm a big fan of this guy. Looks like he changed his mind haha
Reading some of the tweets, lots of people saying he could go in the 30's or 40's, maybe even late 2nd round. But if he's still there at 53, definitely a guy worth taking a long/hard look at for us..

I don't want to take a wing with this pick.
Think about it. We took a wing in the lottery 2 years in a row. Langford didn't work out and Nesmith (unless he somehow has a BIG turnaround to his career in year 3 next season) also didn't work out. Why? Because it's hard to be a wing on this team who isn't either
a) tatum/brown or
b) a proven veteran like white (yes i consider him a wing cause he plays lots of mins at the 2), j-rich or fournier
Not to mention we also have Begarin. Begarin, Nesmith, Hauser. Let's just see if 1 of them can work out.
Last 4 drafts:
Begarin and Madar - too soon to know if they worked out
Grant - a PF who worked out good
Rob - a C who worked out
Nesmith - a wing who didn't work out
Langford - a wing who didn't work out
Pritchard - a combo guard who has worked out pretty good cause he is really gritty and an elite shooter
edwards - a combo guard who didn't work out cause he's not as gritty as Pritchard and just could not shoot as well at the NBA level as Pritchard (like, not even close)
Waters - too small. good but just not good enough
Bottom line:
1) Pricthard is doing pretty good. Madar could also end up being a decent backup guard. So i am fine if we don't take another little guy with this pick.
2) No wings please!
3) I only want a guy who can play the 4 and/or the 5. Guys who could be available at our pick who can play the 4 and/or the 5 (ranked in no particular order) Isaiah Mobley, Jabari Walker, Jaylin Williams, Trevion Williams, Yoan Makoundou, Marcus Bingham, Khalifa Diop, Makur Maker, Dominick Barlow, Mouhamadou Gueye, Christian Koloko, Karlo Matkovic, Leonardo Okeke, Moussa Diabate.
4) I want us to pick Makoundou. I think that's obvious at this point
well I said this about 2 months ago.. But thanks for joining my club..
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

using Hal's list, without even viewing half of these guys yet, I have already come to the conclusion that there is some really good upside talent that could turn out to be a gem..
pick the right one and hopefully develop them..

We badly need to buy/get additional second round picks. There a lot of upside talent in the second round.

Got to expect at least a trade or two this offseason.
We have a lot of assets that we can use to both improve now and add for future.
Have to expect that large TPE will net us a servicable player we need now and a late pick/2nd rounder
Aaron Nesmith probably get shopped for a late 1st to give him the opportunity somewhere. (Portland, OKC, Houston spurs, denver all have multiple 1sts)

Re: 2022 NBA Draft Thread
Interesting mock draft here:
http://mavsdraft.com/community-mock-draft-8-0/
They have us taking Iverson Molinar. Not a fan of this pick. Small combo-guard who is not a very good shooter. He's kind of like schroder except more crafty with his dribble drive moves rather than schroder who just turns on the jets and goes really fast right to the rim (sometimes out of control). He's an older prospect too so not a ton of upside. But, the guy can handle the ball pretty good and create offense so he's potentially a guy who can come in off the bench, give us some ball handling and some instant offense..

Appreciate the recap as I haven't been paying attention.
Of these guys - just glancing at stats and scouting capsules - Michael Foster Jr is the guy I like. On paper, I don't see why he isn't considered a lottery pick.
Otherwise I think Jared Rhoden and Lester Quinones maybe have underrated potential from a 3&D standpoint, Champagnie should have a decent career but he's a bit of a tweener, Gillespie maybe intrigues as a Payton Pritchard type but we already have Payton Pritchard.

That's definitely not an official list, just what's been reported on Twitter and other internet sources. It's very likely that the Celtics have worked out other prospects as well.

Yeah either they think he'll be off the board by then or they think that he doesn't check either the defense or the shooting box enough for their liking. He would probably be the highest rated prospect on this list if they worked him out. For the most part, everyone on this list are guys who are projected to either go undrafted or be late 2nd round picks. I wouldn't be surprised if Alondes goes earlier than that.
Maybe they did work Alondes out and it just hasn't been reported though..
