Watching Tatum play makes me thankful that the Wolves have Anthony Edwards.

What he lacks in superstardom is his bulldog mentality and foolish turnovers. Ant-Man may still commit those TOs, but never the bulldog mentality.

Watching the playoffs tells me one thing. The window is NOW, seriously, things are wide open to win a title. We really are not that far away, no one is right now. There are no mega teams like there were. Some thought we could give the Warriors a tough series, not that we would win, but that we could win a game or two off of them.

No one from the east this year seemed like they were untouchable, if we had an "on" night we could probably beat any of those teams. The wolves need to add the right pieces, they need to grow, but we could legitimately be competing for a title in a couple of seasons if we make the right moves.

Big props to the Warriors. I always felt like they were easily going to be back in the title picture after their injuries but things did not go smoothly at all. They had a lot of adversity, the injuries were a lot worse than expected and they basically had to do a mini rebuild. They did a SUPERB job of that retooling. They kept their core guys and built a new talented structure around them

They targeted the exact kinds of players they needed and those players excelled in their roles. This title is very impressive because Klay Thompson is just a shell of his former self right now and their number 2 pick hasn't even played. That is just some fantastic maneuvering by their front office and some impressive coaching by Steve Kerr. You can hate them all you want but that is a very gifted organization.

Great gameplan and individual effort from Wiggins, Tatum looked lost at times out there, he is really going to have a tough weekend as the media and fans are going to crush for looking "soft" and getting bodied by Wiggins. Just one of these series that will haunt him until next season.

Happy for Bjelica and Wiggins! Well deserved!

P.S. I wonder whether Wiggins will get his extension this summer. If he does, I wonder what type of offers will Looney, GPII get.

Happy for Wiggs and Nemanja too, even if, contrary to the drooling on the main board, he's still pretty much the same guy, just in a much better situation where he doesn't have to be top dog.

Gotta burn Jimmy's ass that Wiggy got a ring first. 8-)

This is the difference between good and bad front offices.

But hey Timberwolves built a pretender and reached the 1st round of the playoffs.

What my dude?

Yeah the Wiggins trade wasn't amazing in hindsight, giving up that pick was a disaster and acquiring DLo was bad, but this is hardly the end result of that.

Wiggins doesn't not make the Warriors a championship team.

Curry

And to a lesser extent.
Thompson
Poole
Kerr
And good fill in vets like Green, Looney, Porter do.

They built talent but it's still all dependent on the fact that they have the single greatest shooting player of all time and he happens to be arguably the best guard in the league.

None of this is on Wiggins, Wiggins performed well because Curry is the gravity well. You cant leave Curry you can't give him an inch of space even if he's 0-9. You have to make sure he misses shots.

This whole series is about Curry. Curry is that whole team.

Hell Dlo would look decent if he was out there playing ball with them, in fact he did! When he was on the Warriors he had some of his best shooting stats ever.

Yes that trade was bad but you're a moron to posit your sentence that the Wolves being a pretender and reaching the first round wasn't impressive.

**** off Foye. No real Wolves fan would be unhappy about this seasons result. To taste the playoffs after (I don't count the Thibs era) since basically KG and to almost win against the 2nd seed means we're in a good spot.

We need two gravity wells at the guard spot. Somebody who demands multiple coverage attention. Now if that can be Ant great but Dlo is not that guy. We need players like a Steph, Dame, Kyrie, or Mitchell to fill that hole.

Curry played a total of 5 games the season Russell was there.
Klay didn't play at all. How the hell did they make him look good while not even playing?
Get your facts straight before you post random stuff.
Also, what is considered best shooting stats ever for Russell, is probably still below league average.
23 points on 19 shots just isn't very good.

The deal itself was horrible and with horrible I mean god damn horrible value, it was the day I quit being a Wolves fan.
And Kuminga will make it look even worse in the future.

And yes, unless Anthony Edwards goes full MJ mode, Timberwolves are a pretender for the forseeable future and there is little way to improve on it.

Wiggins wasn’t going to lead us anywhere as a top 2 or 3 option. Getting out of his deal a year earlier was still worth it. DLos contract is a lot more attractive than Wiggins’ is now.

Id still do that trade today, he was that horrific for us.

If Wiggins made 10-20M less per year, I’d paint a different picture of the guy. But he promised papa Glen he’s a max player and he’s clearly not

He played 33 games with them 5 is a big sample size.

Draymond also played almost every game with him and he's a primary focus of their offense. The warriors inherently didn't change their offense and DLo benefited so I would say that yes the warriors helped him play better.

Better is better, doesn't matter how much better.

I don't like Dlo and I hated the trade as well.

If you're just here to **** on the Wolves then **** off. Nobody here needs that ****.

Let's see man. I guarantee this roster will be better, because there is a lot more to this team than meets the eye.

They did sign them a year apart, but Wiggins signed a 5 year deal and Russell only a 4 year.

Quit being a wolves fan and then have to come onto the Wolves board to gloat, and say how screwed the Wolves are for the future, what a life. Enjoy the title. Most wolves fans are happy for Wiggins, and agree that the deal was a bad one.

Why anyone think Wiggins was going to succeed here is beyond me. He had opportunities as the main guy, he had option as the role player. He could have been a defender a rebounder. We gave him some of the most widely touted vets to play with. Meanwhile we made it to the playoffs in large part because of DLo, and people are still complaining? :banghead:

I hope that ARod and Lore will be better owners than Taylor. GSW has been having deep pockets, making wise investments, coaching stability, good scouting and player development program. But before this they were an mediocre organization. They changed it over these years. Keep building identity, like GSW did, when nobody believed in undersized shooting small ball team.
